On the afternoon of January 31, CCPIT Beijing Chairman Guo Huaigang visited Beijing Capital Group Exhibitions & Events. He had in-depth discussions with persons-in-charge from the China Convention/Exhibition/Event Society (CCEES) and the MICE Division of the Municipal Commerce Bureau on promoting the high-quality development of Beijing’s meeting, incentives, convention and exhibition (MICE) industry. CCPIT Beijing First-level Inspector Zhang Youlin participated in the discussions.
Wei Mingqian, Chairman of Beijing Capital Group Exhibitions & Events, introduced the company’s development and its progress in constructing MICE facilities. Chu Xiangyin, CCEES Chief Researcher and Zhou Lixia, Director of the MICE Division of the Municipal Commerce Bureau, discussed the MICE industry trends and offered advice on Beijing’s policies.
Guo Huaigang stated that the MICE industry was not only crucial for establishing a modern market system and open economic system, but also in a uniquely strong position to promote the new development paradigm and achieve high-quality development and high-level openness. The local MICE industry is entering a major period of strategic development. It offers improved services to assist Beijing in enhancing its functions as a capital city, building the “four centers” and “two zones”, coordinating the Five Key Initiatives, deepening international cooperation, and achieving high-quality development. As epidemic prevention and control measures continue to improve, MICE companies will have a brighter future. CCPIT Beijing will work to promote the industry, serve as a link between companies, and help entities meet international standards. It will cultivate local MICE brands and companies, improve outbound (cross-border) MICE services, create an industry ecosystem that supports “dual circulation”, and unleash a multiplier effect across the MICE economy. It will also attract world-renowned MICE companies, exhibitions, conferences, and talent to build Beijing into a global MICE hub.
