On the morning of September 8, 2026, the Beijing International Chamber of Commerce Roundtable Dialogue with Thai Trade and Investment Promotion Organizations was successfully held in Bangkok, Thailand. The event brought together representatives from leading Thai trade and investment promotion organizations, including Viboon Supakarapongkul, Vice Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Board of Trade of Thailand; Li Guixiong, Vice Chairman of the Thai-Chinese Chamber of Commerce; Li Pei, Vice Chairman of the Thai-Chinese Economic and Investment Institute under the Federation of Thai Industries; Narong Sakidkhwa, President of the CTAB Attorneys Association; and Ma Yanling, CCPIT’s Chief Representative in Thailand. Under the theme “Deepening Beijing-Thailand Economic Cooperation and Jointly Promoting Regional Connectivity”, participants drew on the respective strengths of their organizations to offer recommendations on facilitating deeper business engagement between the two sides. The meeting was chaired by Yao Huaxing, President of Thai-Beijing Chamber of Commerce. Zhang Jianwei, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of CCPIT Beijing and President of BCIC, delivered concluding remarks.
Zhang noted that this year marks the 51st anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand. Beijing and Bangkok have also maintained sister-city relations for more than three decades, with bilateral economic and trade cooperation continuing to deepen. Beijing-based enterprises have a solid foundation and broad prospects for cooperation with Thailand. As enterprises shift from asset-light trade operations toward localized operations, their primary concern is increasingly moving from whether to enter the Thai market to how to achieve compliant and sustainable development there. This is precisely where trade and investment promotion agencies have a role to play. The Thailand session of the “Beijing Brands Going Global” initiative was held ahead of the roundtable. The initiative adopts a two-track approach, supporting enterprises in expanding into overseas markets while building cooperation networks among trade and investment promotion organizations. Looking ahead, Zhang proposed that the two sides focus on three key areas of cooperation: new-energy vehicles and intelligent manufacturing; the digital economy and artificial intelligence; and healthcare and low-carbon development. He also proposed three measures—establishing a regular coordination mechanism among chambers of commerce, strengthening integrated legal and commercial services, and promoting reciprocal delegation visits—to continuously deepen Beijing-Thailand cooperation and achieve tangible results.
