On the morning of September 1, a CCPIT Beijing delegation led by Zhang Jianwei, Secretary of Party Leadership Group of CCPIT Beijing and President of Beijing Chamber of International Commerce, and Li Xiangying, Chairperson of CCPIT Beijing, visited Beijing Customs and compared notes with its Commissioner Ran Hui on deepening cooperation and jointly supporting Beijing’s opening-up. The meeting attended by Feng Bin, Deputy Commissioner and First-Level Inspector of Beijing Customs; Wang Hui, Deputy Commissioner of Beijing Customs; Zhu Jialiang and Zhang Fangfang, Vice Chairmen of CCPIT Beijing; and relevant department heads from both sides.
Ran Hui said that Beijing Customs is committed to safeguarding the country’s gateways and promoting development to standards befitting the capital, while fulfilling its responsibility to serve Beijing’s development. It has advanced Beijing’s high-quality development and high-standard opening-up, facilitated more convenient and efficient cross-border trade, and developed a “five-in-one” smart supervision model to support major exhibitions and conventions such as the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CHIFIS) and the China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE). Beijing Customs has also further strengthened the platforms for opening-up. Focusing on Beijing’s “Two Zones” (refer to the Integrated National Demonstration Zone for Opening up the Services Sector and the China (Beijing) Pilot Free Trade Zone), it has helped foster a new pattern of opening-up featuring “two airport hubs and four integrated bonded zones”.
Zhang Jianwei noted that trade promotion organizations should learn from Beijing Customs’ proven experience in serving enterprises and continue to improve their work in representing the business community, conducting macroeconomic research, and analyzing data. Going forward, CCPIT Beijing will continue to leverage its role in “connecting government and enterprises, linking domestic and international markets, and facilitating supply-demand matchmaking”. It will deepen cooperation with Beijing Customs in areas such as enterprise training, commercial certification, and event organization, jointly conducting on-site survey of key enterprises and leveraging their respective strengths to better support Beijing’s high-standard opening-up and high-quality development.
