On August 21, CCPIT Beijing, together with the Beijing Municipal Commission of Development and Reform, the Office of the Financial Committee of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, the Beijing Investment Promotion Bureau, and Invest Hong Kong, organized a matchmaking event for biopharmaceutical and intelligent manufacturing enterprises seeking Hong Kong listings. The event was part of a series of events under the Beijing-Hong Kong Economic Cooperation Symposium aimed to support enterprises in expanding into international markets. Focusing on enterprises’ needs for commercialization, capitalization, and internationalization, the event brought together representatives from more than 30 biopharmaceutical and intelligent manufacturing enterprises and related institutions, including WeMed, QL Biopharm, Wehand-Bio, CorreGene, Hugobiotech, and AnlongBio. Several participating enterprises have already begun preparations for Hong Kong listings.
Focusing on Development Needs and Connecting Capital with Industry
Biopharmaceuticals and intelligent manufacturing are strategic emerging industries prioritized by Beijing and important areas for developing new-quality productive forces. To address enterprises’ needs for financing in Hong Kong and international development, the event invited representatives from the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX), J.P. Morgan, King & Wood Mallesons, Ernst & Young, and Danaher Corporation to provide specialized guidance.
By bringing together government departments, capital market institutions, professional service providers, and enterprises, the event helped participating companies gain a more systematic understanding of Hong Kong’s capital market rules and pathways to international development. It also created favorable conditions for enterprises to diversify financing channels and enhance their global competitiveness.
Strengthening Overseas Investment Services to Address Corporate Concerns
For technology-intensive enterprises in sectors such as biopharmaceuticals and intelligent manufacturing, a Hong Kong listing provides not only access to large-scale financing, but also a platform for connecting international capital, industry resources, and global markets. As enterprises pursue overseas R&D cooperation, expand into international markets, or undertake cross-border investment and M&A, they need to take a coordinated approach to financing arrangements, project compliance, and risk management. During the interaction session, participating enterprises held face-to-face discussions with representatives from HKEX, investment banks, law firms, accounting firms, and relevant government agencies on practical issues related to listing preparations, cross-border corporate structures, and overseas expansion. These exchanges helped better align corporate needs with policy, capital, and professional services.
Continuing the Event Series and Improving the Enterprise Internationalization Service Mechanism
The Hong Kong Listing Event Series is designed around the practical needs of enterprises, featuring specialized sessions for priority industries and emphasizing small-scale participation, professional guidance, and targeted matchmaking. The session on embodied intelligence held on July 30 provided guidance on Chapter 18C of the Listing Rules and pathways to international development, attracting a group of enterprises from the sector. The August 21 session placed greater emphasis on biopharmaceuticals and intelligent manufacturing. Going forward, additional matchmaking events will be organized for other priority industries, with follow-up services provided to address participating enterprises’ subsequent needs.
CCPIT Beijing will continue to deepen coordination with relevant departments and focus on the international development needs of Beijing’s priority industries, including artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing, and biopharmaceuticals. Leveraging the Beijing “Belt and Road” Comprehensive Service Platform, CCPIT Beijing will strengthen cooperation with Hong Kong’s capital market institutions, professional service providers, and high-quality overseas partners, while providing supporting services such as policy briefings, specialized guidance, and targeted resource matchmaking. These efforts will help more Beijing-based enterprises expand into global markets.
