On the afternoon of May 12, CCPIT Beijing and the Associated Chinese Societies of Commerce Malaysia (SOCCOM) held a symposium on economic and trade cooperation at the Beijing Fujian Enterprises General Chamber of Commerce.
Datuk Seri Lim Chia Yee, President of SOCCOM, outlined the organization’s efforts to integrate the resources of major Chinese associations and chambers of commerce across Malaysia to form a nationally representative and influential collaborative platform for Chinese business communities. He expressed the hope of establishing a routine liaison mechanism with CCPIT Beijing to jointly elevate the economic and trade cooperation between Malaysia and Beijing to a new level.
Yun Jing, Director General of the Huairou District Bureau of Commerce, highlighted Huairou’s investment promotion policies and invited SOCCOM to organize visits by its member enterprises to explore the district’s industrial development. She also pledged convenient and professional services for Malaysian enterprises seeking to invest in Beijing.
Liao Hongcheng, Executive President and Secretary General of Beijing Fujian Enterprises General Chamber of Commerce—a Vice Chair organization of the Beijing Chamber of International Commerce (BCIC)—introduced the Chamber's work and expressed the hope that, under BCIC’s guidance, economic exchanges and cooperation between its members and Malaysia, as well as the wider Southeast Asian region, would be further strengthened.
During the symposium, representatives from 12 enterprises and institutions—namely the Feng Qiao Digital Intelligence Science Center, Bangying Digital Intelligence Platform for Dispute Resolution, Beijing Shanzai Quantum Health Technology Co., Ltd., Beijing Xijia Wanwei Technology Co., Ltd., Beijing Dawn Aerospace Bio-tech Co., Ltd., Beijing Yongjuhe Environmental Technology Co., Ltd., Lingyi Capital, Beijing Qiancheng Law Firm, Beijing Salion Foods Co., Ltd., Beijing Yushiyuan Food Co., Ltd., Beijing Zhangyiyuan Tea Co., Ltd., and Fujian Runeng Rosewood Furniture Co., Ltd.—gave presentations on their business operations in Malaysia and outlined their cooperation needs.
Zhu Jialiang, Vice Chairman of CCPIT Beijing, stated that as a public service agency dedicated to promoting international trade and investment, CCPIT Beijing will leverage its role in “connecting government and enterprises, linking domestic and international markets, and facilitating supply-demand matchmaking”. It will serve as a bridge for exchanges and cooperation between the Chinese and Malaysian business communities and actively respond to SOCCOM’s initiative. Through mutual visits, economic and trade events, and information-sharing platforms, the two sides will deepen cooperation in areas such as the digital economy, AI, the green economy, new energy, cross-border e-commerce, and international trade, jointly opening a new chapter of high-quality cooperation.
Nearly 30 participants attended the symposium, including John Zhang, Vice President of SOCCOM; Dato’ JP, Low Kok Chuan, Deputy President of SOCCOM; Dato’ Tang Zhi Nian, First Vice President of SOCCOM; other members of SOCCOM; and representatives of BCIC’s member enterprises.
