On the morning of April 7, 2026, Zhang Xiufeng, Vice Chairman of CCPIT Beijing, met with a delegation led by Lee Bong-geol, head of the Beijing office of the Korea International Trade Association (Beijing). The two sides held in-depth discussions on the new opportunities for China-ROK economic and trade cooperation and explored practical collaboration in key sectors.
Zhang Xiufeng welcomed Lee Bong-geol and his delegation and outlined CCPIT Beijing's roles and achievements in advancing international economic and trade cooperation and supporting enterprises in going global. He noted that China and the ROK, as close neighbors with complementary industrial structures, enjoy a solid foundation for economic and trade cooperation. He claimed that CCPIT Beijing attaches great importance to its partnership with ROK counterparts and expressed his hope that this meeting would further deepen practical collaboration between the two sides in areas such as trade and investment, technological innovation, and biopharmaceuticals, thereby contributing to the high-quality development of China-ROK economic and trade relations. Zhang also invited KITA to organize business delegations to participate in major investment and trade promotion events in Beijing, including the China International Fair for Trade in Services, China International Supply Chain Expo, China Beijing International High-tech Expo, and Beijing International Investment and Trade Conference, so as to provide ROK enterprises with broader platforms for expanding in the Chinese market and strengthening cooperation with Chinese partners.
Lee Bong-geol introduced KITA’s work and the latest developments of ROK enterprises in China. He stated that since its establishment, the KITA Beijing office has been committed to promoting bilateral investment and trade, supporting ROK companies in entering the Chinese market, and facilitating Chinese investment and technological cooperation in the ROK. He added that while China-ROK economic and trade cooperation faces both new opportunities and challenges, KITA stands ready to strengthen communication and coordination with CCPIT Beijing to jointly build more platforms for practical cooperation and support enterprises from both countries in deepening mutually beneficial collaboration across industry and supply chains.
