On March 27, 2026, the Seminar on the International Expansion of AI and Biopharmaceutical Industries, jointly organized by the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute of Macao SAR and Zhongguancun Development Group Co., Ltd., was held at the Zhongguancun International Innovation Center in Beijing. Approximately 150 representatives from government agencies, research institutions, industry associations, and enterprises from both regions attended the seminar. CCPIT Beijing Vice Chairman Zhang Xiufeng delivered remarks.
In his speech, Zhang noted that, as an international science and technology innovation center, Beijing boasts a strong research foundation and a well-developed industry chain in AI and biopharmaceuticals. Macao, as a key platform linking the Chinese mainland with Portuguese-speaking countries (PSCs), offers unique advantages for enterprises seeking to expand internationally. Since the launch of the Beijing-Macao Cooperation Partnership Program in 2016, collaboration between the two regions has continued to deepen. CCPIT Beijing will continue to serve as a bridge, promoting higher-level, results-oriented cooperation between enterprises from Beijing and Macao in areas such as technological innovation and global industrial expansion.
Focusing on the two strategic emerging industries of AI and biopharmaceuticals, the seminar brought together resources from government, industry, academia, research institutes, and the investment community, building a high-quality platform to support innovative enterprises from both regions in going global. As a supporting organization, CCPIT Beijing fully leveraged its distinctive role in connecting government and enterprises and linking domestic and international markets. It facilitated the participation of more than 10 Beijing-based hi-tech enterprises, enabled targeted matchmaking with counterparts in Macao and PSCs, and supported their expansion into international markets.
