From February 9 to 12, Liu Yang, First-Level Inspector of CCPIT Beijing, led a delegation of Beijing-based medical device enterprises to the UAE to participate in the World Health Expo Dubai (WHX Dubai) and conduct a series of economic and trade exchanges. Wei Bin, President of the Beijing Chamber of Commerce for Medical Devices, accompanied the delegation. A total of 12 Beijing enterprises exhibited at WHX Dubai and engaged in business matchmaking activities.

WHX Dubai is the largest and most influential healthcare industry event in the Middle East, serving as a premier platform for connecting suppliers with target buyers and for gaining insights into industry trends. Spanning the entire healthcare industry chain, the Expo showcases a comprehensive range of offerings, including medical equipment and devices, digital health and intelligent healthcare solutions, rehabilitation and wellness products, medical consumables and related services. Occupying 100,000 square meters, this year’s event brought together more than 4,300 exhibitors from over 180 countries and regions. It featured three thematic stages—Future X, Frontiers, and Visionary—and hosted a series of CME-accredited seminars. The event attracted nearly 240,000 purchasers and trade visitors, including officials from health authorities, hospital administrators, medical device distributors, clinicians, laboratory directors, and healthcare investment institutions.

During the visit, Liu Yang led the delegation in in-depth exchanges with Salem Al Shamsi, Vice President of Dubai Chambers; Basma Ali, Deputy Chairman of the National Committee of Pharmacies of the Federation of Saudi Chambers; Mohamed Al Mheiri, director of health tourism and external relations at the Dubai Health Authority; Ahmad Al-Gurayed‏, Marketing Manager of Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Medical Group (HMG) in Saudi Arabia; as well as representatives from local government agencies, business associations, and leading enterprises. The delegation promoted Beijing’s favorable business environment and high-standard opening-up policies, affirming their commitment to constantly strengthening exchanges and cooperation with global business communities, expanding two-way trade and investment, and welcoming international participation in major events held in Beijing, including the China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE), the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), the China Beijing International High-tech Expo (CHITEC), and the Beijing International Investment and Trade Conference (BIIT). Foreign counterparts expressed their willingness to collaborate with CCPIT Beijing and the Beijing Chamber of International Commerce (BCIC) to establish exchange platforms, deepen economic and trade cooperation, broaden channels for industrial integration, capitalize on shared opportunities, and support enterprises in achieving win-win outcomes.

To better respond to enterprises’ evolving needs for international expansion, Liu Yang also led the delegation to visit the Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC), the International Free Zone Authority (IFZA) Dubai, the Dubai Multi Commodities Center (DMCC), and the DMCC Yingtian Chinese Business Center. The delegation gained insights into local business registration procedures and operational models, offering valuable guidance for enterprises in formulating their overseas expansion strategies.

Following thorough pre-event engagement, three enterprises—Lepu Medical Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd., Surgnova Healthcare Technologies (Beijing) Co., Ltd., and Beijing Tuoren International Trade Co., Ltd.—signed export cooperation agreements on site with companies from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Egypt, and South Africa, with a total contracted amount of USD 2.17 million. Several other Beijing enterprises also conducted on-site negotiations with purchasers and trade visitors from the US, the UK, France, the Republic of Korea, and other countries and regions.

With a focus on the healthcare markets in the Middle East and beyond, this visit provided targeted support for the overseas expansion of Beijing-based medical device enterprises and enhanced their understanding of international market dynamics. CCPIT Beijing and BCIC will continue to leverage their extensive global resources and well-established network of partner business associations worldwide to strengthen engagement with international business communities and promote the global expansion of Beijing enterprises, products, and services.
