On February 11, a CCPIT Beijing delegation led by Secretary of the Party Leadership Group Zhang Jianwei and Chairperson Li Xiangying visited Beijing Graphene Institute and met with its director Liu Zhongfan, who is also a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The two sides held a special discussion on the organization of China Beijing International High-tech Expo (CHITEC). Zhu Jialiang, Vice Chairman of CCPIT Beijing, Wei Mingqian, Vice General Manager of Beijing North Star Co., Ltd., and Yan Bohua, Director of the Exhibition and Training Department of the China International Association for Promotion of Science and Technology, attended the meeting together with department heads from CCPIT Beijing.
Zhang Jianwei expressed his sincere gratitude to Academician Liu Zhongfan for his longstanding concern and steadfast support for the development of CHITEC, as well as for his valuable contributions to the capital’s technological innovation. He briefed Liu on the preparatory progress of the 28th CHITEC, elaborating on the Expo’s alignment with the national strategy for technological innovation and the capital’s high-quality development agenda. He further outlined the principle of consolidating innovation resources, establishing collaborative platforms, and accelerating the commercialization of research achievements, while highlighting CHITEC’s measures for professional organization, market-oriented operation, and international expansion.
Liu Zhongfan fully recognized the phased achievements in CHITEC’s preparation. Drawing upon his own research experience and industry expertise, he offered opinions and suggestions to elevate the Expo. He underscored that CHITEC should align with China’s strategic priorities, consolidate its specialized positioning, and focus on serving industries, enterprises, and the scientific community. It should also strive to build a platform for the exhibition, commercialization, launch, and promotion of cutting-edge technological achievements, and serve as a barometer of Beijing’s technological innovation, hi-tech industry development, international cooperation in science and technology, and the aggregation of scientific talent. He further highlighted the imperative of deepening market-oriented reforms, expanding avenues for cooperation, elevating the Expo’s global influence, and enhancing its capacity to empower industries. To reinforce CHITEC’s high-level intellectual support and enhance its top-level design and professional standards, Liu Zhongfan graciously agreed to serve as Chairman of the Expo’s Advisory Committee. He will spearhead the formation of a distinguished expert panel to provide professional guidance and intellectual support for the Expo’s advancement.
