From February 4 to 6, 2026, a CCPIT Beijing delegation led by Chairperson Li Xiangying visited Casablanca, Morocco, to carry out economic and trade exchanges. The visit further deepened the pragmatic cooperation between Beijing and Morocco in trade, finance, and related sectors.
Advancing Auto-Sector Collaboration and Industry Chain Integration
On the afternoon of February 4, the delegation visited Comicom, a key Moroccan partner of BAIC Group, to gain an in-depth understanding of operational progress achieved since the two sides launched cooperation in May 2025. Youssef Bennani, Deputy General Director of Comicom, and Mohamed El Kassimi, Head of Sales and Marketing Department—BAIC & Mahindra, briefed the delegation on the localized promotion and sales performance of BAIC passenger vehicles. They expressed their hope of leveraging CCPIT Beijing’s platform to connect with more technologically competitive Chinese automobile brands, thereby enriching product offerings and enhancing market competitiveness. Li Xiangying claimed that CCPIT Beijing would leverage its bridging role, align closely with local market demand, and promote efficient integration of high-quality resources from Beijing’s auto industry chain with Morocco’s distribution networks. These efforts will support the transition from a single-brand agency model towards coordinated industrial development and deeper technological collaboration.
Establishing a Long-Term Partnership Mechanism through Two Memoranda of Cooperation
On the morning of February 5, the delegation attended the Moroccan-Chinese Economic Forum in Casablanca. Ren Hongbin, Chairman of CCPIT, led a delegation of Chinese entrepreneurs to the Forum and delivered a speech. Chakib Alj, President of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises, and Mehdi Laraki, Chairman of the Morocco-China Business Council, also addressed the event. During the forum, Li Xiangying signed agreements of friendly cooperation respectively with Mehdi Laraki and Yang Bihai, Secretary General of L'Association des entreprises chinoises au Maroc (AECM). CCPIT Beijing will deepen collaboration with the Morocco-China Business Council and AECM in areas including information sharing, enterprise services, mutual visits, and event organization, thereby building a practical cooperation platform and providing professional services for enterprises from both countries. In addition, Beijing-based enterprises and institutions—including Beiqi Foton Motor, the BDA Chamber of Commerce for Innovative Tech Companies, and Offcn Education Technology—conducted in-depth exchanges with Moroccan business associations and leading companies on new energy, the digital economy, green development, vocational education, and other key areas.
Integrating Financial Service Resources to Support Enterprises in Cross-Border Operations
On the afternoon of February 5, the delegation, together with Ren Hongbin, met with Khalid Nasr, Executive General Manager of the Bank of Africa (BOA), to exchange views on strengthening financial cooperation between China and Morocco, as well as across the wider African region. Khalid introduced the BOA’s operational footprint and major projects across the continent, and clearly expressed his willingness to engage in comprehensive and pragmatic cooperation with Chinese enterprises. Subsequently, the delegation visited Attijariwafa Bank to gain deeper insights into Morocco’s economic landscape and business environment as a financial hub in North Africa. They held in-depth discussions with Abdelaziz Lahlou, Chief Economist and Board Member of the Bank’s, on potential collaboration in finance, new-energy vehicles, agriculture, and vocational education.
Optimizing Service Platforms in Response to Corporate Concerns
To provide targeted services to Chinese-funded enterprises in Morocco, the delegation organized a workshop on February 6. Representatives from Bank of China, POWERCHINA, and OBOR Consulting shared their experience and recommendations regarding localized operations, regulatory compliance, and talent development. Going forward, CCPIT Beijing will continue to serve as a strong voice for the business community. It will integrate resources and develop service platforms to provide more precise and practical support for enterprises expanding overseas.
Building on the outcomes of this visit, CCPIT Beijing will further play a bridging role in implementing the cooperation agreements reached in Morocco. It will promote the efficient integration of Beijing’s high-quality industrial resources with the local market needs, deepen industrial synergy and technological partnership between the two regions, and support more Beijing-based enterprises in exploring opportunities in Morocco and across North Africa.
