On the afternoon of January 29, CCPIT Beijing held the 2025 Work Review Conference. At the meeting, Zhang Jianwei, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of CCPIT Beijing, delivered a work report reviewing the organization’s achievements over the past year, analyzing the current situation, and outlining key tasks for 2026. Chairperson Li Xiangying conveyed the guiding principles of the national trade promotion conference. Members of CCPIT Beijing’s leadership, department heads, and staff from affiliated institutions attended the Conference.
The Conference noted that 2025 marked the final year of the 14th Five-Year Plan. Under the strong leadership of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and the municipal government, with the guidance of CCPIT, and with the close coordination and strong support of relevant districts and authorities, CCPIT Beijing achieved tangible results in all aspects of its work. First, CCPIT Beijing strengthened Party building by consistently prioritizing political awareness and fully shouldering its responsibility for Party governance and discipline, thereby reinforcing the “firewall” against corruption and misconduct among Party members. Second, with a focus on national priorities, CCPIT Beijing contributed to Beijing’s and China’s opening-up. It proactively aligned with the broader framework of foreign engagement, participated deeply in Belt and Road Initiative cooperation, and enhanced collaboration between CCPIT Beijing and the municipal government. Third, CCPIT Beijing innovated a platform to enhance the quality and efficiency of two-way trade and investment promotion. Leveraging the high-level advisory role of the International Business Leaders Advisory Council for the Mayor of Beijing (IBLAC), it held the inaugural Beijing Roundtable Meeting for International Convention and Exhibition Organizations along with 75 economic and trade events, including the 27th China Beijing International High-Tech Expo (CHITEC) and the Beijing International Fair for Investment and Trade (BIIT) 2025. These events facilitated the signing of contracts for nearly 100 projects with a total value exceeding RMB 40 billion. Fourth, CCPIT Beijing constantly broadened the scope of international economic and trade cooperation. Leveraging global business association networks, it strengthened ties with embassies, consulates, and overseas business associations in Beijing, advancing delegation exchanges and win-win cooperation. Fifth, CCPIT Beijing achieved breakthroughs in the development of a commercial legal services system. It accelerated the establishment of the Beijing International Commercial Mediation Center, proactively assisted enterprises in addressing China-US economic and trade frictions, and constantly improved the commercial legal service chain, thereby contributing to Beijing's role as a preferred destination for resolving international commercial disputes. Sixth, CCPIT Beijing delivered notable results in the “bringing in” and “going out” initiatives by expanding its service network. It actively promoted Beijing brands and companies in their global expansion while continuously facilitating foreign investment and trade. Seventh, CCPIT Beijing enhanced the development of think tanks to provide practical and targeted support for open policy formulation by the government. Through in-depth research, it addressed development challenges, underscored the growing value of information products, and enabled the full use of think tank resources to provide policy recommendations for the capital’s development. Eighth, CCPIT Beijing further consolidated the collective strength of Beijing’s trade promotion agencies. It vigorously promoted the reform and development of Beijing Chamber of International Commerce (BCIC), deepened cooperation with government agencies at various levels, channeled resources to districts across the city, and strengthened the coordination between municipal and district-level development. Ninth, CCPIT Beijing comprehensively improved operational efficacy by prioritizing standardized management.
The Conference highlighted the significance of trade promotion in 2026, the opening year of the 15th Five-Year Plan. CCPIT Beijing will adhere to Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, thoroughly study and implement the guiding principles of the 20th CPC National Congress and the plenary sessions of the 20th CPC Central Committee; and fully carry out the directives of the 7th and 8th Plenary Sessions of the 13th CPC Beijing Municipal Committee. It will closely align with the national trade promotion initiatives for the “Year of Synergy” and the requirements of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and the municipal government, focus on advancing the capital’s high-quality development and high-standard opening-up, and place greater emphasis on the growth of emerging industries, the conversion of international resources, and the enhancement of service precision. Furthermore, it will strive to enhance the effectiveness of economic and trade platforms, expand international liaison channels, and refine the enterprise service system, thereby better supporting the growth of the capital’s open economy. Priority should be given to the following seven areas: First, uphold the Party’s overall leadership over trade promotion. Promote the internalization of the Party’s innovative theories, strengthen accountability for exercising full and strict governance over the Party, and step up efforts to improve Party conduct and uphold integrity. Second, formulate the 15th Five-Year Beijing Trade Promotion Development Plan (2026-2030). Third, host three major events at a high standard. Meticulously organize the 17th IBLAC meeting, creatively stage the 28th CHITEC, and successfully deliver the BIIT 2026. Fourth, advance the quality and efficiency of trade and investment promotion in five key areas. Strengthen economic and trade platforms, consolidate and expand international liaison networks, promote the high-quality development of the MICE industry, constantly improve the trade promotion and commercial legal service systems, and accelerate the development of a high-level, application-oriented think tank. Fifth, constantly expand the enterprise service network. Adopt tiered service strategies, streamline commercial certification and customs clearance, and advance data-driven, intelligent, and targeted service delivery. Sixth, further deepen coordinated development. Seek new breakthroughs in CCPIT Beijing’s cooperation with the municipal government, strengthen coordination with relevant commissions, offices, bureaus, and districts of Beijing, adopt the integrated approach of the national trade promotion system, facilitate the smooth circulation of resources and elements, and support the international expansion of industry chains. Seventh, reinforce institutional and operational safeguards. Continue to strengthen cadre development, enhance comprehensive service capacity, and effectively showcase Beijing’s image and trade-promotion achievements.
