On the afternoon of January 28, the 100-day countdown event for the 28th China Beijing International High-Tech Expo (CHITEC) was successfully held at the China National Convention Center. The event consisted of two segments: a coordination meeting and a media briefing. Attendees included Secretary of Party Leadership Group Zhang Jianwei and Chairperson Li Xiangying from CCPIT Beijing; Chairman Zhang Jie and General Manager Liang Jie from Beijing North Star Co., Ltd.; President Duan Miyi and Secretary General Zhang Shaochun from the China International Association for the Promotion of Science and Technology (CIAPST); along with representatives from the CHITEC task force, participating enterprises and institutions, and journalists.
The coordination meeting was presided over by Zhu Jialiang, Vice Chairman of CCPIT Beijing. Relevant department heads from CCPIT Beijing, Beijing North Star, and CIAPST briefed attendees on the progress of CHITEC preparation. Li Xiangying, Liang Jie, and Yan Bohua signed a strategic cooperation agreement on behalf of the three parties. Zhang Jianwei, Zhang Jie, and Duan Miyi delivered remarks the meeting, respectively. The meeting emphasized the importance of enhancing political awareness, gaining a deeper understanding of CHITEC’s mission in the new era, and closely aligning their work with the capital’s development strategy. It called for strengthened strategic support, enhanced coordination and synergy, and the pooling of collective efforts. With heightened enthusiasm, a results-oriented approach, and concrete actions, all tasks are to be advanced with full dedication to ensure that this year’s Expo is distinctive in character, exemplary in standards, and far-reaching in impact.
The media briefing was chaired by Wei Mingqian, Vice General Manager of Beijing North Star. Zhu Jialiang provided a detailed introduction to the overall arrangements and key aspects of the 28th CHITEC. A total of 20 partners signed letters of intent for cooperation. The 28th CHITEC will be held from May 8 to 10 at the China National Convention Center. Under the theme, “Science and Technology for a Better Future”, and with a total exhibition area of 50,000 square meters, the Expo will focus on the future development of Beijing’s key industries, with a particular emphasis on the “AI +” initiative. It features six thematic exhibition zones: Information Technology; Biopharmaceuticals and Health; Intelligent Manufacturing; Low-carbon, Green Development; Technology Finance; and Regional Innovation. During the Expo, a series of thematic events on emerging technologies and future industries will be held alongside trade and investment promotion campaigns. These initiatives will provide a high-quality platform for technological exchange and cooperation, injecting new momentum into Beijing's development as an international science and technology innovation center and the high-quality advancement of the technology industries of the Jing-Jin-Ji region.
