2026-1-23 11:08:03

On the morning of January 21, 2026, Liu Yang, First-Level Inspector of CCPIT Beijing, met with a delegation led by Andrés Gebauer Millas, Commercial Counsellor of the Embassy of Chile in China. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on advancing pragmatic bilateral economic and trade cooperation.

Liu Yang extended a warm welcome to the visiting delegation and briefed them on Beijing’s economic landscape and priorities. He noted that Beijing and Chile’s Santiago Metropolitan Region are sister cities and have achieved solid cooperation in areas such as new-energy vehicles and agricultural trade—particularly in products such as cherries— laying a strong foundation for broader economic and trade engagement. As an international science and technology innovation center, Beijing enjoys strong strategic alignment with Chile and presents vast opportunities for collaboration in modern agriculture, clean energy, mining development, bio-pharmaceuticals, and digital technologies. CCPIT Beijing and the Beijing Chamber of International Commerce (BCIC) stand ready to further strengthen institutionalized cooperation with the Commercial Office, share their extensive trade networks and member resources, and jointly build efficient and pragmatic platforms for business matchmaking. He welcomed Chilean enterprises and institutions to participate in major trade fairs, including the China Beijing International High-tech Expo (CHITEC), the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), the China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE), and the Beijing International Investment and Trade Conference (BIIT). Chilean entities are expected to leverage these platforms to deepen exchanges with Beijing and expand two-way investment and trade, thereby promoting higher-quality development of bilateral economic relations.

Andrés Gebauer Millas stated that Chile is a strategic partner of China in Latin America. He expressed Chile’s willingness to work with CCPIT Beijing and BCIC to consolidate existing cooperation mechanisms, enhance information sharing and coordinated activities, and actively facilitate the entry of high-quality Chilean products and services into the Chinese market. Furthermore, Chile welcomes Chinese investors, including enterprises from Beijing, to pursue pragmatic cooperation with Chilean partners on key industries, with a view to achieving win-win outcomes through new projects and injecting fresh momentum into bilateral economic and trade relations.
