On December 12, Zhang Jianwei, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of CCPIT Beijing and President of the Beijing Chamber of International Commerce (BCIC), received a delegation led by Cheng Tian, Vice President of the Beijing Branch of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC). Zhu Jialiang, Vice Chairman of CCPIT Beijing, and Ma Gang, an expert from the ICBC Beijing Branch, along with department heads from both sides, also attended the meeting.
At the meeting, Cheng Tian briefed participants on ICBC’s overseas network and the development of international business at the Beijing Branch. ICBC has established 413 overseas institutions in 69 countries and regions, and through its equity participation in Standard Bank, indirectly reached 20 African countries. In countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative, ICBC has set up 250 branches in 30 countries. Its service network spans six continents and covers major international financial centers worldwide. The ICBC Beijing Branch has also accumulated extensive experience in supporting foreign investment entering China and assisting enterprises in going global. Cheng expressed the hope of establishing a routine communication mechanism with CCPIT Beijing, strengthening cooperation in domestic and international economic and trade activities, and jointly supporting enterprises’ international development.
Zhang Jianwei welcomed the ICBC Beijing Branch delegation and expressed his appreciation for the Branch’s continued support for CCPIT Beijing and the BCIC in recent years. He noted that CCPIT Beijing, as a public service institution for promoting international trade and investment, plays a unique bridging role in “connecting government and enterprises, linking domestic and international markets, and facilitating supply-demand matchmaking.” He stated that both sides could leverage their respective strengths and, through deeper engagement in platforms such as the China Beijing International High-tech Expo (CHITEC) and the BCIC, jointly support Beijing’s high-standard opening-up and high-quality development.
