On the morning of November 17, CCPIT Beijing Chairperson Li Xiangying met with a delegation led by Arturo Romo, General Director of Investment Attraction, Government of Mexico City. The two sides compared notes on strengthening economic and trade cooperation as well as business exchanges.
Li Xiangying welcomed the visiting delegation and outlined Beijing’s developments and plans regarding sectors such as IT, AI, and healthcare, highlighting the city’s role as a center for science and technology innovation. She noted that CCPIT Beijing actively facilitates the participation of Beijing-based enterprises in international exchanges, supporting their global expansion while also attracting foreign businesses to develop in the capital.
Arturo Romo claimed that Mexico City, as a major economic and cultural hub in Latin America, is committed to upgrading its service sector and promoting emerging industries such as clean energy, healthcare, and tourism services to achieve sustainable and inclusive growth.
Both sides agreed that Beijing and Mexico City share numerous similarities in terms of population size, industrial structure, and technological innovation priorities. Moving forward, they will explore mechanisms for routine exchanges within the framework of their sister-city relationship, fostering industrial cooperation and business matchmaking to achieve win-win outcomes.
