CCPIT Beijing Participates in the 18th China-LAC Business Summit

The 18th China-LAC Business Summit opened on November 3 in Zhengzhou, Henan Province. The Summit brought together over 2,000 participants, including senior officials from relevant Chinese ministries and commissions, government representatives and diplomatic envoys from nearly 30 Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) countries, as well as representatives from international organizations, trade promotion agencies, chambers of commerce and industry associations at home and abroad, together with experts, scholars and business leaders.

Ms. Li Xiangying, Chairperson of CCPIT Beijing, attended the opening ceremony and the plenary session. She also participated in the roundtable meeting for China-LAC trade promotion organizations, chambers of commerce, and industry associations, engaging in exchanges with leaders from more than 30 organizations on both sides. Following the roundtable, Ms. Li met with Mr. Antonio L. Carricarte Corona, President of the Cuban Chamber of Commerce, and his delegation.Mr. Carricarte highlighted the long-standing relations and strong economic complementarity between Cuba and China. He expressed the hope of working with CCPIT Beijing to invite and organize Beijing-based enterprises to participate in industry exhibitions in Cuba, and to facilitate cooperation between Chinese and Cuban companies in jointly expanding market opportunities on both sides.

Li Xiangying extended a warm welcome to the Cuban delegation and expressed the hope of strengthening cooperation in areas such as food, renewable energy, and biopharmaceuticals through enhanced exchanges and resource sharing. She proposed organizing reciprocal trade missions in these key sectors and invited member companies of the Cuban Chamber of Commerce to participate in major events in Beijing, including the China Beijing International High-Tech Expo (CHITEC)and the Beijing International Investment and Trade Conference (BIIT). She emphasized the shared commitment to creating more platforms for China-LAC business engagement, helping enterprises from both sides unlock cooperation potential, and jointly exploring new avenues for collaboration.

At the signing ceremony, Li Xiangying, on behalf of the BCIC, signed a friendly cooperation agreement with the Cuban Chamber of Commerce.
