On the morning of October 22, the "Beijing Day" & Opening Ceremony of Beijing Pavilion of the 30th Macao International Trade and Investment Fair (MIF) was grandly held at the Venetian Macao Convention and Exhibition Center. Li Hui, Deputy Director of Hong Kong and Macao Work Office and First-Level Inspector of the Beijing Municipal People’s Government, and Leong Wa Fong, Executive Committee Member of the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute, addressed the event on behalf of Beijing and Macao respectively.

The Beijing Pavilion was graced by the presence of Liu Yang, First-Class Inspector of CCPIT Beijing; Guo Wenjie, Executive Vice Governor of Daxing District; officials from the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR, Beijing  Municipal Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Macao authorities including the Executive Council, Policy Research and Regional Development Bureau, Economic and Technological Development Bureau, Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute, and Pharmaceutical Supervision Bureau; over 50 representatives from Macao’s business associations and enterprises; as well as delegates from Beijing-based enterprises and institutions. Together, they explored new opportunities for mutually beneficial investment and trade cooperation.

Following the Opening Ceremony was the “Beijing Day”, which features presentations on Beijing’s TCM industry, Daxing District, and Beijing-based enterprises. Participants also witnessed the signing of cooperation agreements between the Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Macao University of Science and Technology, and relevant enterprises.

Dominated by a palette of Chinese red and enriched with local cultural elements, the Beijing Pavilion comprised the Central Exhibition Zone, Cultural and Creative Interaction Zone, Health-themed Interaction Zone, Daxing Exhibition Zone, and Enterprise Exhibition Zone. Together, these sections offered a diverse showcase that blended classical elegance with modern vitality, and traditional culture with a spirit of openness.

The Central Exhibition Zone highlighted Beijing’s strategic role as the “Four Centers”, illustrating its achievements in high-quality development and high-standard opening-up. It also spotlighted the fruitful outcomes stemming from the first Beijing-Macao Cooperation Conference across 12 key areas of collaboration.

The Cultural and Creative Interaction Zone captured widespread attention: the Temple of Heaven booth displayed an array of cultural and creative products inspired by the World Heritage Site and Beijing’s central axis, while brands such as POP MART and Mahua FunAge engaged visitors with interactive experiences and photogenic installations.

The Health-themed Interaction Zone also stood out, offering on-site consultations and demonstrations by specialists from the Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Dongzhimen Hospital. Tong Ren Tang presented its intangible cultural heritage—the “Angong Niuhuang Pill Production Technique”—promoting the TCM culture on a global stage.

The Daxing Exhibition Zone spotlighted the district’s “6+5+3” industrial layout, showcasing the bio-pharmaceutical ecosystem of the “Chinese Medicine Valley” alongside advances in the airport economy, digital economy, cross-border e-commerce, and other sectors.

The Enterprise Exhibition Zone featured a dozen outstanding Beijing-based enterprises across various fields, including bio-pharmaceuticals, technological innovation, and cultural tourism. Exhibitors promoted their distinctive products and services, leveraging the MIF platform to expand channels for international cooperation.

This year's MIF serves not only as a key component of the 2025 Beijing-Macao Partnership Initiative but also as a vital platform under the Beijing-Macao Cooperation Conference framework. Through the MIF, Beijing seeks to deepen pragmatic cooperation with Macao in key areas, promote the high-quality development of both regions, and broaden exchanges with Portuguese-speaking countries and beyond, thereby contributing to Macao’s appropriate economic diversification and its further integration into the national development strategy.
