On the morning of October 16, a CCPIT Beijing delegation led by Secretary of the Party Leadership Group Zhang Jianwei and Chairperson Li Xiangying visited the Beijing Association for Science and Technology (BAST) for a meeting with Secretary of the Party Leadership Group Ding Yong and Executive Vice President Li Xin. The two sides held in-depth exchanges on strengthening cooperation and jointly advancing the organization of the China Beijing International High-Tech Expo (CHITEC). Officials from relevant departments of both sides attended the meeting.
Ding Yong noted that as a key bridge connecting the technological community, BAST would give full play to its strengths by contributing to the thematic planning of CHITEC. Focusing on frontier topics such as future industry development and technology commercialization, BAST will build high-level dialogue platforms to enhance the event’s academic depth and industry influence. BAST will collaborate with universities, research institutes, and leading tech enterprises to select cutting-edge innovations in fields such as artificial intelligence, quantum information, and bio-pharmaceutical for exhibition, thereby enriching CHITEC’s showcase of frontier technologies. BAST will also mobilize technical workers to participate in CHITEC events, promoting the integration of science popularization and brand communication, and helping shape CHITEC into a premier technology event that combines professional excellence with broad public engagement.
Zhang Jianwei noted that CHITEC, as a state-level global platform for technological exchange and cooperation, serves as an important vehicle supporting the development of Beijing as an international center for science and technology innovation. He stated that CCPIT Beijing would leverage its role as the event organizer and would, together with BAST, intensify efforts to attract more international exhibitors, buyers, and trade visitors—particularly targeting technology institutions and enterprises from BRI countries—to expand CHITEC’s global cooperation network. CCPIT Beijing will work closely with BAST to plan technology exchange activities, promote the alignment of exhibited scientific achievements with local industrial needs, and facilitate the transformation of “technological exhibits” into “industrial products.” These efforts aim to build CHITEC into a core platform for fostering technological openness and cooperation and empowering high-quality industrial development.
