On September 16, the Beijing-Saudi Commercial Arbitration Cooperation Roundtable, organized by CCPIT Beijing, the Beijing Chamber of International Commerce (BCIC), and the Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration (SCCA), was successfully held at the CP Center in Beijing. CCPIT Beijing Chairperson Li Xiangying and SCCA Chairman Walid Abanumay addressed the meeting. Among the nearly 60 attendees were Tang Haijiao, Vice Chairman and First-Level Inspector of CCPIT Beijing and Vice President of BCIC; Zhu Jialiang, Vice Chairman of CCPIT Beijing and Vice President and Secretary General of BCIC; officials from the Beijing Municipal Commission of Development and Reform, Beijing Arbitration Commission, the International Commercial Law Committee of BCIC, the Overseas Expansion Services Committee of BCIC; as well as representatives from various enterprises.

In her speech, Li Xiangying claimed that "going global" has become a vital pathway for Beijing-based enterprises—particularly private firms—to broaden their development prospects and enhance their international competitiveness. She underscored the strong complementarity between the industrial structures of Beijing and Saudi Arabia, noting that this positions Saudi Arabia as a major destination for local enterprises seeking to expand overseas. As a pivotal bridge linking business communities and enterprises, and as a leading platform for both domestic and international economic and trade exchanges, CCPIT Beijing reaffirmed its commitment to deepening cooperation with the SCCA. Together, these two organizations will establish fast tracks for Sino-Saudi commercial arbitration, promote mutual recognition of rules, advance information sharing, and facilitate the integration of services.

During the specialized dialogue session, experts from the SCCA, the Beijing Arbitration Commission, and the International Commercial Law Committee of BCIC conducted in-depth discussions on issues including the characteristics of Sino-Saudi arbitration rules, the advancement of dispute prevention mechanisms, and the nurturing of legal talent.

In the business exchange segment, attendees explored the development of arbitration cooperation frameworks, approaches to risk management, and arbitration practices. SCCA's CEO, Hamed Merah, introduced the latest developments of Saudi Arabia's arbitration system. Its Chief Legal Advisor, Christian Alberti, shared illustrative arbitration cases, while Board Member Georges Affaki delivered a speech entitled "Saudi Arabia—A Safe Place for Arbitration". At the meeting, CCPIT Beijing and the SCCA also signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation.

This meeting marked a significant step in deepening Beijing-Saudi economic and trade cooperation. It is designed to establish an efficient, professional, and reliable dispute resolution mechanism, positioning Beijing as a preferred destination for international commercial arbitration. By fostering strategic partnerships with world-renowned arbitration institutions, CCPIT Beijing seeks to provide enterprises with life-cycle legal services—from risk prevention to dispute resolution—empowering China and Saudi companies to achieve mutual benefits under the frameworks of the Belt and Road Initiative and "Vision 2030".
