On the afternoon of September 1, a CCPIT Beijing delegation led by Secretary of Party Leadership Group Zhang Jianwei visited the ASEAN-China Center and met with its Secretary General Shi Zhongjun. CCPIT Beijing Vice Chairman Zhu Jialiang also attended the meeting.
Established on November 18, 2011, the ASEAN-China Center (ACC) is an intergovernmental organization jointly founded by China and the 10 ASEAN nations. It is dedicated to fostering friendly exchanges and pragmatic cooperation between China and ASEAN in trade, investment, education, culture, tourism, and information media. Shi Zhongjun outlined ACC's current status and principal initiatives, noting that since its inception, ACC has annually undertaken more than 20 major projects, organized over 40 large events, and hosted or participated in nearly 200 activities. These efforts have yielded significant political, economic, and social outcomes in both China and ASEAN nations. They have not only strengthened mutual exchanges and practical collaboration but also contributed to the advancement of the China-ASEAN strategic partnership.
Zhang Jianwei claimed that CCPIT Beijing, as an international trade and investment promotion body, has consistently sought to act as a crucial link between the municipal government and the business community, as well as a bridge connecting Chinese and global enterprises. By capitalizing on its unique role in connecting government and enterprises, bridging domestic and international markets, and facilitating supply-demand matchmaking, CCPIT Beijing actively supports the capital's high-standard opening-up, high-quality development, and international business cooperation. He expressed his hope of collaborating with ACC to leverage their respective strengths in establishing a platform for economic and trade engagement with ASEAN countries. With the strong support of ACC, this partnership would focus on attracting ASEAN hi-tech industries to invest in Beijing and participate in exhibitions such as CHITEC, while also assisting Beijing enterprises in expanding their presence in ASEAN markets.
