On the afternoon of June 20, the 2025 "Hiwits Cup" Basketball Tournament, organized by the Beijing Chamber of International Commerce (BCIC), kicked off at Beijing International Studies University. Guided jointly by the university and CCPIT Beijing, the event uses basketball as a medium to strengthen connections among BCIC member enterprises, facilitate cross-sector communication and collaboration, and empower trade and investment promotion through exciting sports activities, thereby boosting Beijing's high-standard opening-up to the world. The tournament has received strong support from Beijing International Studies University, Qingdao Hiwits Meter Co., Ltd., CCB Life Insurance Beijing Branch, and other organizations. A total of 31 teams representing a diverse range of industries participated in the opening ceremony.
Zhang Jianwei, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of CCPIT Beijing and President of BCIC declared the tournament open. He pledged that BCIC would seize this opportunity to establish a mechanism for routine cross-sector communication, enabling members to deepen mutual understanding and broaden collaboration through dynamic sports competition—ultimately injecting fresh momentum into the capital city's open economy. Ji Jinbiao, President of Beijing International Studies University, and Shen Chao, General Manager of Hiwits, also delivered remarks at the opening ceremony.
Running through October, the tournament offers a public-spirited platform for BCIC members to showcase their charm, foster camaraderie, and explore new avenues for cooperation. In the name of basketball, BCIC is uniting stakeholders from all sides—opening new channels, mobilizing resources, and writing a new chapter in advancing Beijing's high-quality development.
