On the morning of June 6, Zhang Jianwei, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of CCPIT Beijing and President of the Beijing Chamber of International Commerce (BCIC), led a delegation to visit the China-Latin America Cultural Exchange Center (CICAL), an executive board member of BCIC, and meet with its director Wang Lichao. Zhu Jialiang, Vice Chairman of CCPIT Beijing and Vice President & Secretary General of BCIC, participated in the meeting alongside representatives from both sides.
Wang Lichao presented an overview of CICAL's developments. As he put it, in recent years, CICAL has remained committed to its mission of "creating a welcoming environment for Latin American visitors in China while offering Chinese people a window into Latin American culture". Through exhibitions, film festivals, concerts, and other events, CICAL has advanced cultural understanding and strengthened people-to-people connections between China and Latin America. He expressed his aspiration to further deepen China-Latin America cooperation by harnessing the international reach and specialized service resources of CCPIT Beijing and BCIC, with a particular focus on promoting youth exchanges, building business platforms, and fostering sustained cultural engagement.
Zhang Jianwei fully acknowledged CICAL's achievements in advancing cultural exchanges between China and Latin America, arguing that the mutual understanding fostered through such exchanges will lay a solid foundation for deeper collaboration in economic domains. He recognized the promising outlook of bilateral relations and highlighted the unique advantages of CCPIT Beijing and BICC in "connecting government and enterprises, bridging domestic and international markets, and facilitating supply-demand matchmaking". He pledged to work with CICAL to build a platform for cultural and business integration, thereby strengthening the ties between Chinese and foreign enterprises, enhancing international economic and trade exchanges, helping to establish Beijing as a center for international exchanges, and advancing China-Latin America relations.
