2025 Animation and Game Overseas Promotion Conference Held in Beijing to Forge an Open Innovation Community

On May 9, 2025, the Animation and Game Overseas Promotion Conference, part of the event series titled “Trade between Beijing Tianjin Hebei Region in 2025: Investment Promotes Collaborative Development,” was co-hosted in Beijing by CCPIT Beijing, the Beijing Chamber of International Commerce, CCPIT Tianjin, the Tianjin Chamber of International Commerce, CCPIT Hebei, and the Hebei Chamber of International Commerce.

With the theme of “Forging an Open Innovation Community,” the event focused on cutting-edge technologies, emerging products, and future industry areas in the overseas animation and game market, providing practical solutions on technology innovation, market expansion, and compliant operations for enterprises going abroad. The conference attracted over 100 on-site participants from government agencies, industry associations, enterprises, and media, while nearly 7,000 viewers watched the live stream on online platforms.

Building a Collaborative Platform to Discuss New Chapters of Going Global

The conference kicked off at 14:00 with opening remarks from the host.

Liu Ruijun, Second-level Inspector of CCPIT Beijing, stated in his speech that the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region is accelerating the construction of an ecosystem for collaborative innovation in digital culture. Through policy coordination and resource sharing, it leverages the 5 tasks and 16 measures in the Action Plan for Supporting Private Enterprises to Expand Business Overseas to improve the full-chain service system, helping local animation and game enterprises break through overseas market compliance barriers and create internationally competitive benchmarks for cultural and technological integration.

Yan Ying, Deputy Director of the Publicity and Culture Department of the Working Committee of the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (BDA), noted that as a national high-tech industrial development zone, the BDA is seizing the opportunity of the “Two Zones” construction and adhering to an innovation-driven development strategy. It is committed to building a high-end industrial cluster in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and serving as strong backing for enterprises going global.

Multi-Dimensional Discussions on Industry Trends

Zhang Wenyuan, Investment Promotion Director of China (Beijing) High-Tech Audio Visual Industrial Park, released the park’s plan for developing the industrial innovation ecosystem, which proposes building a full-chain service system covering “technology research and development, content production, and international distribution.” Miao Jingyi, Gaming Industry Manager of the New Customer Department at Google Greater China, delivered a speech titled “Digital Marketing to Boost the Game’s Overseas Expansion.” Miao offered practical marketing strategies and methods for game enterprises by analyzing how to reach overseas users and emphasizing the importance of localized operations and data-driven approaches.

Liu Chenyu, Dean of the ShineGlobal Think Tank and Research Institute, provided insights into the overseas expansion of China’s gaming industry and offered forecasts on global trends, helping enterprises grasp market changes and plan in advance.

Facing Challenges and Opportunities to Build the Industry’s Future

Xu Xiaodan, General Manager of Beijing Bonfire Entertainment Culture Development Co., Ltd., shared practical ideas on the overseas development of games and short dramas, and revealed new paths to international expansion under the evolving content landscape. Rou Xia, General Manager of Super Mart (Beijing) Cultural & Creative Co., Ltd., focused on IP operations, emphasizing the core role and value of original IPs in the overseas expansion.

Wei Jiacai, Vice President of Business at Beijing Manyougu Information Technology Co., Ltd., shared his views on “Opportunities and Challenges for Game R&D Companies under Globalization,” proposing a strategy that places equal emphasis on technological innovation and compliant operations. Hidetsugu Miyokawa, Chief Representative of the TMI Associates Beijing Office, provided a detailed interpretation of key compliance points in game-related overseas expansion, such as data security and content review for the Japanese market. He offered professional guidance to help Chinese enterprises avoid risks in international markets.

This Animation and Game Overseas Promotion Conference integrated innovation resources from the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and connected deeply with the world’s advanced and mature industrial chains. At this new stage of coordinated development in the region, the event promotes animation and game enterprises to actively participate in international division of labor, seize opportunities, and secure a competitive edge in the global animation and game industry chain.
