Established in 1998, China Beijing International High-tech Expo (“CHITEC”) is China’s first large-scale international exchange and cooperation exhibition with the theme of science and technology which is approved by the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the State Council and which is sponsored by the Beijing Municipal Government. It has been held for 26 consecutive sessions. CHITEC has drawn overseas delegations from over 100 countries and regions, more than 40,000 Chinese and foreign institutions and enterprises, and six million visitors, and the value of contracts and agreements signed exceeds one trillion yuan. The expo is widely covered by China Media Group, Beijing Daily, Toutiao and other media.
The 26th CHITEC was held in July 2024, which attracted over 300 enterprises and institutions from 18 countries and regions, including 76 of the Fortune 500 companies. The expo featured “first launch” and “first exhibition” projects. More than 300 cutting-edge technologies and latest scientific and technological achievements in the fields of advanced manufacturing, artificial intelligence, gene and cell therapy were unveiled. The expo promoted accurate matchmaking of supply and demand for industrial cooperation. Thirty-two trade and investment promotion activities were held, participated by more than 6,000 professionals. Eighteen provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities including Tianjin, Chongqing, Shandong, Guangdong, and Wuhan participated in the expo, showcasing over 370 scientific and technological innovation achievements.
The 27th CHITEC is scheduled on May 8-11, 2025，at the China National Convention Center in Beijing, with an exhibition area of approximately 50,000 square meters. The exhibition with the theme of “Science and Technology for A Better Future” will set up six exhibition areas: information technology, intelligent manufacturing, medicine and health, green & carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, digital economy, and regional innovation. It will also focus on artificial intelligence, digital education, medicine and health, new energy and other fields. A number of promotion and release events will be held. Specialized and sophisticated enterprises that produce new and unique products, unicorn enterprises, little giant companies and venture capital institutions will be invited to conduct project roadshows and capital matchmaking. The expo continue to fulfil its functions of exhibition and investment promotion. Every effort is made to build the CHITEC into an authoritative platform for release of new products and new technologies for high-tech enterprises at home and abroad, a platform for the R&D, commercialization, application and exchanges of scientific and technological achievements, a platform for international science and technology trade and investment facilitation, and an aggregation platform for innovation chain, industrial chain, capital chain and talent chain. We will further integrate scientific and technological innovation resources, guide the development of strategic emerging industries and future-oriented industries, and expedite the emergence of new quality productive forces.
