On February 20, CCPIT Beijing held its 2025 Work Conference on Trade Promotion to review trade promotion activities of Beijing in 2024 and set key priorities for 2025. Zhang Jianwei, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of CCPIT Beijing, delivered a speech, while Li Xiangying, Chairperson of CCPIT Beijing, presented the work report. Representatives from the CCPIT sub-councils in Chaoyang, Fengtai, Shunyi, and Changping districts also shared insights and engaged in discussions. The conference was chaired by Zhu Jialiang, Vice Chairman of CCPIT Beijing.
The conference highlighted that, in 2024, under the strong leadership of the municipal Party committee and government, and with the guidance of CCPIT, Beijing's trade promotion organizations fully implemented the decisions and plans set forth by municipal authorities. These efforts focused on advancing the capital's development in the new era, in line with the "1+9+5" framework of CCPIT and the "Three-Four-Five" work model of CCPIT Beijing. The organizations upheld Party leadership, prioritized high-quality and innovative trade promotion, and leveraged their unique role in "connecting government and enterprises, bridging domestic and international markets, and facilitating supply-demand matchmaking." Efforts were also made to strengthen district-level organizations. The establishment of CCPIT sub-councils and chambers of international commerce in each of Beijing's 16 districts began to take shape. These initiatives have significantly boosted organizational cohesion and effectiveness, leading to new progress in trade promotion activities across the city.
The conference also emphasized that 2025 marks the final year of the 14th Five-Year Plan. Achieving outstanding results in trade promotion during this period is therefore of great importance. Moving forward, CCPIT Beijing should focus on deepening reforms, prioritizing efforts to build platforms, expand international channels, and optimize services. The "Three-Four-Five" work model should be applied more comprehensively and effectively, with the goal of driving further progress in supporting the capital's high-level opening-up and high-quality development.
The conference identified the following priorities:
1. Enhancing political awareness and clearly defining goals and directions in line with broader strategic picture. It is essential to actively align with the national agenda for opening up, contribute to Beijing's overall development, and fully implement the decisions and plans set by the municipal Party committee and government. Upholding the principle of merit-based appointments, CCPIT Beijing should leverage its dual role as both a government body and a civil trade organization to drive further innovation and reform, seize emerging opportunities, and take proactive action.
2. Strengthening a unified approach and building strong collective efforts to support the capital's high-level opening-up. A "one-team" mentality must be fostered across the city, focusing on streamlining cooperation between municipal and district-level organizations through institutionalized, project-driven, and platform-based initiatives. Efforts should be made to enhance collaboration among trade promotion organizations, fully utilize CCPIT's resources, and leverage cooperation frameworks such as Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Beijing-Mongolia, and Beijing-Shenyang to improve communication and coordination between district-level trade promotion organizations. In addition, collaborative mechanisms with municipal departments should be established to broaden communication channels, share resources, and promote coordinated development.
3. Strengthening service awareness and taking proactive steps to support businesses in their international trade and economic activities. It's crucial to deepen our understanding of business status and needs, build a comprehensive service system, and accelerate its development. This will offer businesses more effective support for their global operations and help ensure smooth international expansion.
4. Strengthening team development and striving to create a new era in the capital's trade promotion efforts. By upholding the Party’s leadership, CCPIT Beijing should focus on inspiring a spirit of entrepreneurship among officials, setting high standards of performance, and continuously enhancing capabilities. The focus should be on both innovative planning and practical action to advance the city's trade promotion work, drive new progress, and reach new heights, contributing further to the capital’s high-level opening-up and high-quality development.
All officials of CCPIT Beijing, as well as representatives from the trade promotion organizations in the 16 districts and E-Town, and the heads and relevant staff of the specialized committees of the Beijing Chamber of International Commerce (BCIC), attended the conference.
