On February 8, CCPIT Beijing held its 2024 Annual Review Meeting. Zhang Jianwei, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group, delivered a report titled "Unite, Focus, and Work Diligently to Drive High-Quality Development of the Capital's Trade Promotion." The report summarized the achievements of 2024 and outlined key tasks for 2025. Chairperson Li Xiangying conveyed the guidance from the National Trade Promotion Work Conference and the Two Sessions of Beijing Municipality. Liu Yang, a First-level Inspector, Tang Haijiao, First-level Inspector and Vice Chairman of CCPIT Beijing, Zhu Jialiang, Vice Chairman of CCPIT Beijing, along with all the officials and staff from CCPIT Beijing and its public institutions, attended the meeting.
The meeting emphasized that 2024 was a pivotal year for achieving the goals set out in the 14th Five-Year Plan. Under the strong leadership of the Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government, CCPIT Beijing has made significant progress across various areas, playing a key role in advancing the city's high-level opening-up and high-quality development. The highlights included: First, CCPIT Beijing has focused on strengthening its political foundation, consistently applying Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era to unite and inspire the team. It has deeply integrated theoretical learning, rigorously emphasized party discipline, and made tangible progress in implementing inspection recommendations. Second, CCPIT Beijing has stayed aligned with its core mission and taken on new responsibilities in supporting the city's international outreach. It has actively contributed to China's broader diplomatic initiatives, supported the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, and played a key role in advancing the capital's high-level opening-up and in aiding government decision-making. Third, by improving quality and efficiency, CCPIT Beijing has achieved a new leap in building international economic and trade cooperation platforms. It innovatively hosted the 16th Meeting of the International Business Leaders Advisory Council for the Mayor of Beijing (IBLAC), and made the 26th China Beijing International High-Tech Expo a great success. It also provided strong and efficient support for the 2nd China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE). These economic and trade activities demonstrated unique strengths and features. Fourth, through focused efforts, CCPIT Beijing has made significant progress in expanding international trade and economic cooperation channels. Its global network has continued to grow, as evidenced by an increasing number of exchanges and delegation visits. Fifth, with a focus on enterprises, CCPIT Beijing has enhanced its international business services. The "Go Global" and "Bring In" initiatives have proven highly effective. It has also provided strong intellectual support for business development, made significant strides in commercial legal services, and continually optimized business certification services. Sixth, adopting a systematic approach, CCPIT Beijing has generated new momentum for trade promotion in the capital. The "one-team" strategy for all CCPIT sub-councils has been fully implemented at grassroots organizations. Reforms within the Chamber of International Commerce (CIC) have made steady progress. Seventh, by strengthening its foundation, CCPIT Beijing has made notable progress in its organizational management and operations. Eighth, CCPIT Beijing has prioritized Party governance, continuously strengthening discipline and work ethics. It has actively enforced Party management responsibilities, improved the quality of Party-building efforts, and taken further steps to reinforce anti-corruption measures.
The meeting emphasized that 2025 will be the final year of the 14th Five-Year Plan and a critical year for laying a solid foundation for the 15th Five-Year Plan. Achieving outstanding results in trade promotion during this period is therefore of great importance. CCPIT Beijing must take Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as its guiding principle, and fully embrace the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, as well as the Second and Third Plenary Sessions of the 20th CPC Central Committee. It is also essential to carry out the directives of the Central Economic Work Conference and the National Trade Promotion Work Conference. The focus should be closely aligned with the priorities of the municipal Party committee and government, with the overarching goal of advancing the capital's development in the new era. Additionally, CCPIT Beijing should focus on deepening reforms, strengthening leadership, building strong teams, and planning for future growth. Key priorities will include solidifying the foundation, expanding international channels, and optimizing services. The "Three-Four-Five Working Pattern" should be applied more deeply and practically, with the aim of achieving greater progress in supporting the capital's high-level opening-up and high-quality development. The meeting also set out key tasks for 2025. First, CCPIT Beijing will strengthen Party leadership in trade promotion, prioritizing the enhancement of Party governance. It will continue to reinforce the Party's theoretical foundation, build on the results of previous inspections and rectifications, and deepen comprehensive reforms at all levels. Second, CCPIT Beijing will actively support national opening-up and the capital's high-quality development in the new era. It will contribute to the Belt and Road Initiative, support the development of the "Two Zones" (the Integrated National Demonstration Zone for Opening up the Services Sector and the China (Beijing) Pilot Free Trade Zone), and play a key role in establishing Beijing as a global consumption hub. Third, CCPIT Beijing will fully commit to organizing three major events. These include hosting Beijing Week at Expo 2025 Osaka with a high-profile approach, ensuring the successful execution of the 27th China Beijing International High-Tech Expo, and serving as the rotating host for a series of trade and investment promotion activities focused on the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. Fourth, CCPIT Beijing will adopt multiple measures to promote two-way trade and investment. It will continue to build high-level economic and trade platforms, further expand international trade channels, and enhance the influence and visibility of trade promotion efforts in the capital. Fifth, CCPIT Beijing will deliver efficient, high-quality services to both domestic and international businesses while supporting regional development. It will continue to expand its trade promotion network, advance the reform and development of the Beijing Chamber of International Commerce (BCIC), enhance information and consulting services, prioritize the expansion of international commercial legal services, and bolster the development of an applied think tank focused on international economic and trade issues. Sixth, CCPIT Beijing will ensure strong Party governance. It will focus on strengthening grassroots Party-building efforts, promoting clean governance, and improving internal management and discipline.
