On January 11, the 2025 Beijing Roundtable Meeting for International Convention and Exhibition Organizations was held in Beijing. Co-sponsored by CCPIT Beijing, Beijing Municipal Commerce Bureau, Shunyi District Government, and Beijing Chamber of International Commerce (BCIC), the roundtable features formal meetings, study tours, and "MICE Gala Night". Fifteen guests from international MICE industries discussed topics such as "How the MICE industry can empower urban industrial development" and "How the MICE industry can drive urban consumption". The event also includes the inauguration ceremony for the MICE Committee of BCIC. Over 300 representatives from government agencies, international convention and exhibition organizations, top exhibition companies, chambers of commerce, and trade associations at home and abroad, and Chinese MICE research institutes attended.

The roundtable offers a rich array of activities under a prominent theme. Here are some of its highlights:

First, the roundtable focuses on MICE's exemplary and typical role as a catalyst for urban consumption and industrial development. In line with Beijing's strategic positioning, MICE serves as an important bridge connecting production and consumption, supply and demand, and international and domestic markets. To address the needs for developing new quality productive forces and vigorously boosting consumption, the roundtable invited global MICE leaders to discuss market trends under new circumstances and the priorities for Beijing's MICE community, thereby pooling and sharing industry insights for the betterment of the capital city.

Second, the roundtable brought together the world's leading industry experts. It built a networking platform for heads of major international convention and exhibition organizations like the UFI and the IAEE; officials from MOFCOM, CCPIT, Beijing Municipal Commerce Bureau, Singapore Exhibition & Convention Bureau as well as trade promotion agencies; and executives from world-renowned convention and exhibition companies like France's GL Events and the UK's RX. The roundtable was attended by guests from over 10 countries and regions including China, the US, the UK, Germany, France, and Singapore. Such a dazzling line-up is a testament to both the global influence of Beijing's MICE industry and the international community's confidence in China's prospects.

Third, the roundtable fosters networking and collective advancement through a wide variety of thematic activities. Along with certain guests, representatives from international convention and exhibition organizations were invited on field visits to the Capital International Convention and Exhibition Center (Phase II of ClEC New Venue) and the Luo Hong Art Museum. Events such as the "MICE Gala Night" help to bring industry stakeholders closer, promoting international exchanges and facilitating cooperation along the industry chain, thereby amplifying the driving force of the MICE industry and advancing its high-quality development.

In recent years, Beijing's MICE industry has successively launched several trademark events, such as the China International Fair for Trade in Services, ZGC Forum, Beijing Culture Forum, Financial Street Forum, and China Beijing International High-tech Expo (CHITEC). These events have further enhanced Beijing's influence in the international MICE industries. The 2025 Beijing Roundtable Meeting for International Convention and Exhibition Organizations aims to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with world-renowned convention and exhibition organizations. By attracting internationally acclaimed MICE companies and institutions to build a presence and host events in Beijing, the roundtable will support Beijing's ambition to become a convention and exhibition capital with worldwide influence and further establish the city as an international consumption center.
