On the morning of October 14, Alexander Alles, Executive Director of Joint Meeting Industry Council (JMIC), led a delegation from UFI and the Commercial Committee of China Chamber of International Commerce to visit CCPIT Beijing. During this visit, he engaged in an in-depth exchange with CCPIT Beijing Chairman Li Xiangying on cooperation in the MICE industry. The meeting was also joined by Zhang Xiufeng, Vice Chairman of CCPIT Beijing, and representatives from the Department of International Exhibition.
Zhang Xiufeng outlined CCPIT Beijing’s initiatives in promoting the international MICE industry, trade and investment, as well as efforts in commercial legal services, multilateral and bilateral cooperation in economy and trade, and construction of application-oriented think tanks in international economy and trade. He invited JMIC members to participate in the meetings and exhibitions organized by CCPIT Beijing, expressing a desire to foster high-quality development of the MICE industry in Beijing and facilitate the high-level opening up through collaboration between the two sides.
Alexander Alles introduced JMIC’s functions, membership and recent business development in China. He noted the close communication with CCPIT, and expressed hope that this visit would lay the groundwork for comprehensive cooperation with CCPIT Beijing in brand activities, MICE resources and information exchange.
During the meeting, both sides reached consensus on key items: 1, JMIC will call on its member organizations and enterprises to participate in the events organized by CCPIT Beijing, such as China Beijing International High-tech Expo and Beijing International MICE Organizations Roundtable. 2, Both sides will strongly support international organizations, industry associations and MICE institutions in visiting new exhibition facilities, such as New China International Exhibition Center Phase Ⅱ and China National Convention Center Phase Ⅱ, and in organizing activities in Beijing. 3, The two sides will further collaborate on research and development within the MICE industry in Beijing. 4, JMIC will leverage its international resources to create opportunities for CCPIT Beijing to engage in MICE-related exchanges abroad. Additionally, both parties plan to sign a memorandum of cooperation in due course.
