CCPIT Beijing Receives Economic and Trade Delegation from South Africa

On May 11, CCPIT Beijing received an economic and trade delegation from South Africa, and the two sides had exchanges on strengthening Beijing-South Africa economic and trade cooperation. The gathering saw the participation of 24 government officials and business representatives from relevant provinces and cities in South Africa, alongside executives from prominent Beijing-based enterprises including Beijing Urban Construction Group Co., Ltd., Tangshan Jidong Cement Co., Ltd., Hainan Jingliang Holdings Co., Ltd., Beijing Dongsheng Agricultural Technology Development (Group) Co., Ltd., Lanpai Asphalt Rubber Technology Development (Beijing) Co., Ltd., and Beijing Yiguangda Technology Development Co., Ltd. The meeting was chaired by Liu Yan, Head of CCPIT Representative Office in South Africa, and Wu Lanlan, Vice Chairwoman of CCPIT Beijing, delivered a speech at the meeting.

Wu Lanlan outlined CCPIT Beijing's five key functions: international trade and investment promotion, international commercial legal services, international MICE promotion, international multilateral and bilateral industrial and commercial cooperation, and the establishment of application-oriented think tanks in economy and trade. She also briefed an upcoming visit to South Africa by Beijing economic and trade delegation in June. She expressed the desire to build a bridge for economic and trade exchanges between Beijing and South Africa through two-way exchanges, promote pragmatic cooperation, and bolster high-quality economic and social development in both regions.

Tshepiso Malele, Brand South Africa’s China country head, conveyed heartfelt appreciation to CCPIT and CCPIT Beijing for their endeavors in promoting economic and trade cooperation with South Africa. He underscored Brand South Africa’s dedication to cultivating a positive and appealing national brand image and making South Africa a hot spot for investment, trade, culture and tourism. He looked forward to learning more about Beijing and strengthening collaboration with government departments, enterprises and chambers of commerce in Beijing to collectively explore investment and development opportunities.

During the meeting, representatives from Beijing and South African enterprises and institutions engaged in substantive discussions on potential cooperation in areas such as construction, agriculture, and science and technology.
