CCPIT held the closing press conference of the first China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) at 15:00 on Saturday, December 2, at the W105 release hall of China International Exhibition Center (Shunyi Venue). The press conference was chaired by Sun Xiao, spokesman of CCPIT and Secretary General of the China Chamber of International Commerce. Zhang Shaogang, Vice Chairman of CCPIT, gave a briefing on the Expo, while Zhang himself, Lin Shunjie, Chairman of China International Exhibition Center Group Co., Ltd., and Guo Huaigang, Chairman of CCPIT Beijing, answered the questions from reporters.

CCTV: My question goes to Chairman Guo. What services are offered to support the inaugural China International Supply Chain Expo held in Beijing? Thank you.

Guo Huaigang, Chairman of CCPIT Beijing: Thank you for your question. Over the past five days, Beijing and its Shunyi District have garnered global attention. As the host city for the first China International Supply Chain Expo, Beijing dedicated significant efforts to ensure the success of the Expo.

First, we delivered the services for the Expo in line with the highest standards. Beijing attached great importance to this Expo, and the municipal leaders made scientific planning and held thematic meetings, fully devoted to the preparation of the Expo. Yin Li, Secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, attended critical Expo activities twice, and Mayor Yin Yong gave instructions and put forward requirements for the Expo’s preparation on two occasions. Xia Linmao, Executive Vice Mayor, delivered instructions at the venue of the Expo, and Sima Hong, Vice Mayor, held meetings on the service mechanism of the Expo, to mobilize the forces of relevant parties and ensure the success of the event.

Beijing has set up two mechanisms for this Expo. At the municipal level, 18 units formed an Expo service mechanism, while Shunyi District, serving as the host district of the Expo, established a 24-hour service task force comprising “one division and thirteen groups”. The CISCE flags were hung along Beijing’s main thoroughfares, signaling the imminent arrival of the event. We mobilized various stakeholders, optimized the urban environment, carried out social mobilization, and vigorously advocated civilized behaviors, to show the image of an inclusive and open capital city. We coordinated relevant units to improve the surrounding environment of the exhibition hall, facilitating the planning and use of the parking lot at the Expo. In addition, we deployed 1,820 personnel for patrol and inspection duties, provided nearly 400 vehicles, and strengthened the inspection and maintenance of municipal infrastructure to ensure a stable supply of water, electricity, gas and telecommunication at the exhibition hall. In terms of transportation, we set up more than 1,000 new parking spaces, and offered over 3,800 rail transit trains, buses and taxis to ensure convenient and highly efficient travel for participants. We also vigorously enhanced the publicity efforts, and brought to the Expo more than 50,000 professional visitors from government departments, industrial parks, financial institutions, scientific and technological circles, and enterprises, highlighting Beijing’s positive attitude towards promoting smoother and more efficient supply chains and industrial chains. In particular, we established a voluntary service team comprising 650 volunteers from 13 universities in the capital. They provided thoughtful and high-quality services and demonstrated the good image of the youth in the capital. Ren Hongbin, Chairman of CCPIT, conveyed his birthday wishes to the volunteers during the Expo, a gesture that deeply moved them.

Secondly, taking the Expo as a good opportunity, Beijing actively advanced international economic and trade exchanges and cooperation. As CCPIT Vice Chairman Zhang Shaogang mentioned, this inaugural Expo, serving as a high-end international exchange platform, was participated by enterprises from a wide range of fields, bringing super amounts of talents, technologies and capital. We also seized this opportunity to fully demonstrate the new advantages and opportunities in the opening up of Beijing. In particular, we conducted a series of investigations, exchanges and negotiations with a focus on the new achievements and breakthroughs in the construction of “Two Zones”, attracting global investment and expanding all-round cooperation across industrial chains and supply chains. To capitalize on Beijing’s advantages as an international center for science and technology innovation, we organized 44 specialized and sophisticated enterprises that produce new and unique products to participate in the Expo. We took the lead in setting up the Energy Storage Advanced Exhibition, and organized 24 flagship enterprises in industrial chains such as CATL to participate in the exhibition covering the digital technology chain and the clean energy chain. CCPIT Beijing also organized the exhibition of Beijing China-Germany Economic and Technological Cooperation Demonstration Zone, participated by six hidden champions such as Wilo China and Beijing Zhongnong Tianlu Micro-nano Bubble Water S & T Co., Ltd. CCPIT Beijing held the promotion meeting titled “China-Germany Smart Manufacturing Chain Connecting to the Future” for the hidden champions in the industrial park, where Shunyi District reached investment and cooperation consensus with 14 enterprises, including SUNNIC, China Carbon Times, and OKS. The incorporation of these enterprises into the Beijing China-Germany Industrial Park also optimized the relevant industrial chains in Beijing.

In particular, I would like to note that some foreign guests, friends and audience who participated in the exhibition expressed their desire to visit the enterprises in Beijing’s industrial parks. We accompanied a delegation of business associations from PSCs to the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, where they experienced unmanned driving. We also facilitated on-site industrial chain matchmaking biomedical enterprises in Zhongguancun Life Science Park in Changping District. Moreover, heads of Beijing municipal commissions, offices and bureaus, and heads of Beijing districts and counties attended the Expo to engage with major enterprises across various industrial chains, introduce the industrial development advantages in their district, and discuss cooperation opportunities. The heads of 41 state-owned enterprises in Beijing led over 1,100 representatives to the Expo for business negotiations and exchanges. Beijing capitalized on this opportunity to facilitate the development of the Expo and expand its own international cooperation.

Thirdly, built upon the advantages of the Expo, we accelerated the coordinated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. The Expo, jointly held by the Beijing Municipal Government, the Tianjin Municipal Government, the Hebei Municipal Government, and CCPIT, fully demonstrated the industrial development advantages of the three regions, and enhanced the complementarity among their strong industrial chains, resulting in the signing of the agreements for more than 100 projects. For the first time, a cross-regional industrial chain map and a coordinated development report were unveiled. The list of joint scenarios for Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region was launched, and the “Network Development Project” for the industrial chains in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebe was initiated, aiming to create an industrial ecological network in the region. Beijing is now devoted to building a national capital region composed of modern metropolises, promoting the spatial agglomeration and matchmaking of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei industrial chains and supply chains, and strengthening coordinated innovation, to empower industrial chains and supply chains with innovation chains. Additionally, Beijing has strengthened industrial cooperation, supported the development of major enterprises within supply chains and supply chains at regional level, and released personalized policies for different supply chains, to promote the connection among the upstream, midstream, downstream enterprises, as well as between small, medium-sized and large enterprises, and build a world-class advanced industrial cluster and create a highland for opening up. The Expo arrived at an opportune moment, playing a distinctive role in advancing the national strategy's implementation and promoting the coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei.

The last point I would like to share is that this inaugural Expo held in Beijing has greatly promoted the MICE development in the city, and we extend our gratitude to everyone for your trust in CCPIT and Beijing. Moving forward, Beijing will leverage its role as the capital to enhance service capabilities, strengthen communication with central government units in Beijing, improve and fortify the national brand exhibitions propelled by CISCE. Concurrently, CCPIT Beijing will expand exchanges and collaboration with the international MICE agencies, and attract international high-end brand exhibitions to settle in Beijing, to contribute to Beijing’s establishment as a center for international exchanges and the high-level opening up of the capital. Thank you!
