On August 28-29, a workshop on green power certification was held in Beijing to implement the framework agreement between Beijing Municipality and Qinghai Province, further strengthening their collaborative efforts by combining the international expertise and resources of well-established multinational corporations headquartered in Beijing with Qinghai Province’s natural endowments and distinctive industries. This event was a joint effort organized by CCPIT Beijing, the Department of Commerce of Qinghai Province, the Energy Bureau of Qinghai Province, CCPIT Qinghai Sub-Council, and PricewaterhouseCoopers China Holding Limited. Its primary object is to leverage Qinghai’s strengths in the “green power” industry, thereby assisting Qinghai enterprises in accessing international resources, promoting technological innovation, and advancing industrial upgrades.

The workshop invited experts from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, China Renewable Energy Engineering Institute, Beijing Power Exchange Center, China Renewable Energy Society, as well as senior executives from Fortune Global 500 multinational corporations such as PricewaterhouseCoopers, Schneider Electric, and Veolia. The workshop centered around professional sharing and interpretation of topics related to global ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) sustainable development trends, global green power consumption mechanisms, green power traceability certification requirements, green power trading mechanisms, and the establishment of green supply chain management systems. Over 30 representatives from relevant departments in Qinghai Province, key outbound enterprises and companies engaged in green power trading actively participated in on-site exchanges with the experts. The event also arranged visits to Schneider Electric’s zero-carbon factory and Veolia’s Lugouqiao wastewater treatment plant.

The participating representatives from Qinghai expressed their satisfaction with the workshop, stating that they gained valuable insights and inspiration from the event. Not only did they deepen their understanding of the current status and prospects of green power, but they also developed a profound appreciation for its pivotal role in promoting sustainable development. They were genuinely impressed by the boundless potential within the field of green power. Furthermore, the representatives expressed their commitment to seize this opportunity and incorporate the principles and practices of green power into their day-to-day work. They emphasized their dedication to bolstering the low-carbon competitiveness of businesses in international trade, catalyzing Qinghai's green and low-carbon transformation and development. In addition, they reaffirmed their unwavering determination to actively contribute to global climate change mitigation and promoting energy conservation.
