On July 18, Guo Huaigang, Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group and Chairman of CCPIT Beijing, led a delegation of “Famous Transnational Enterprises Tour in Qinghai” to conduct exchanges and investigations in Qinghai Province. They also participated in the 24th Qinghai China Investment and Trade Fair for Green Development. This initiative aligns with the agreement between the Beijing Municipal Government and Qinghai Provincial Government to deepen support and cooperation, providing better services for foreign-invested enterprises to expand their economic and trade collaborations. The delegation included executives and officials from foreign companies in China, such as Veolia, MetLife, Itochu, Sanofi, HSBC, PwC, Deutsche Bank, P&G, NEC, Schneider, and SAP.
Chen Gang, Secretary of the CPC Qinghai Provincial Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Congress, warmly welcomed the delegation and provided a brief overview of the province’s current situation. He emphasized that Qinghai is fully committed to ecological protection and striving for high-quality development, following the guidance of General Secretary Xi Jinping. Specifically, the province is actively focusing on the clean energy industry to address global climate change and promote energy conservation and emission reduction. Chen Gang expressed his hope that the delegation would take the opportunity to explore and experience more of Qinghai’s offerings. He encouraged them to combine their international perspectives with Qinghai’s abundant resources and characteristic industries. By doing so, they could deepen their practical cooperation, share development opportunities, and ultimately achieve mutual benefits and win-win results.
Guo Huaigang expressed his gratitude for the warm reception from the Qinghai Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government. He noted that Qinghai possesses significant advantages in energy resources and has vast potential for development. He acknowledged the effective collaboration between the trade promotion agencies in Beijing and Qinghai, which have leveraged their respective strengths, shared resources, and built platforms to jointly support regional economic development. He further expressed his hope that the transnational enterprises would seize this opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of Qinghai. In this case, they could tap promising opportunities for cooperation and expand their presence in the Chinese market, to contribute to high-level opening-up, facilitating Western China’s green and high-quality development.
On the 19th, CCPIT Beijing, in collaboration with CCPIT Qinghai Sub Council, provincial government departments, and local authorities, hosted the “Qinghai Investment and Trade Matchmaking Conference for Famous Transnational Enterprises”. During the conference, representatives from the Qinghai Provincial Department of Commerce, Energy Bureau, Agriculture and Rural Affairs Department, Culture, Tourism and Sports Department, Qinghai Salt Lake Industry Co. Ltd., as well as government officials from Xining and Haidong cities, respectively presented to the attending delegation. Representatives from transnational enterprises expressed their sincere appreciation for the favorable investment environment in Qinghai. Moreover, they demonstrated a strong intention to cooperate by actively engaging in project matchmaking and holding productive discussions regarding potential partnerships with relevant departments and enterprises in Qinghai Province.
In addition, the delegation conducted on-site visits to several key locations, including Haidong Industrial Park, Big Data Center, Agricultural Products Trading Center, Xining Comprehensive Bonded Zone, and Gokin Solar Co., Ltd. During the visit, the opportunity to explore the enterprises and workshop assembly lines in the park provided them with valuable firsthand insights. This helped the delegation gain a deeper understanding of the production processes and the international market development strategies of the companies.
During the event, the delegation participated in extensive discussions and exchanges focused on promoting green development in Qinghai. The key areas of focus included establishing a world-class salt lake industry base, a national clean energy industry base, an international ecological tourism destination, and a green organic agricultural and livestock product export base. The representatives from transnational enterprises acknowledged Qinghai’s significant resource endowment and the immense potential it holds for further development. They enthusiastically expressed their commitment to strengthening cooperation in sectors such as clean energy, trade and finance, and healthcare. Moreover, they pledged active participation in the construction of modern Qinghai.
