Chairman Guo Huaigang Delivered Party Lecture on Themed Education

On the morning of June 21, Guo Huaigang, Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group and Chairman of CCPIT Beijing, delivered a lecture to all party members and cadres under the theme of “In-depth Study and Implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and Striving for High-quality Development of Trade Promotion in the Capital”. During the lecture, he emphasized the importance of deepening the study and implementation of Xi Jinping Thought and firmly sticking to the overall requirements of “learning ideology, strengthening party spirit, emphasizing practical work, and achieving new accomplishments”. He urged all party members and cadres to plan and promote their work in a high-level, high-starting point, and high-standard manner. It is necessary to strengthen theoretical learning to guide the practices of trade promotion and to deepen investigations and research to solve development challenges. CCPIT Beijing will leverage its unique advantages to ensure that General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions and the Party Central Committee’s decision-making arrangements are implemented in the trade promotion work in Beijing. This will inspire all party members and cadres to shoulder responsibilities and make progress in the new era. Feng Jianguo, the Deputy Head of the Sixth Steering Group for themed education campaign of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, and Zhu Wenting guided the themed education campaign’s party lecture. The lecture was attended by the leadership team of CCPIT Beijing, as well as all staff of the organization and the Center of the Comprehensive Affair.

When delivering the lecture, Guo Huaigang expounded on the background and fundamental principles of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. He described it as a scientific system featuring rigorous logic, rich content, comprehensive coverage, and great spirit, encompassing areas such as reform, development, stability, domestic and foreign affairs, national defense, and governance of the country, party and armed forces. To fully comprehend and put into practice the Party’s innovative theories, one must strengthen their political, ideological, theoretical, and emotional identification from within. All party members and cadres should bear in mind that, given Beijing’s status as the capital city with work in various fields carrying a high degree of representativeness and directionality, it is crucial to view Beijing through a political lens. Meanwhile, Guo Huaigang also stressed that all party members and cadres should develop a deep understanding of the decisive significance of the “Two Establishes,” strengthen the “Four Consciousnesses,” bolster the “Four Matters of Confidence,” and ensure the “Two Upholds”.

Guo Huaigang further pointed out that the key to conducting themed education lies in the ability to translate acquired knowledge into tangible outcomes that facilitate high-quality trade promotion efforts in our city. According to Guo, the “six musts” proposed by the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China encapsulate Xi Jinping’s world view, methodology, and stance towards China’s socialist ideology in the new era. Regarding trade promotion work in the capital city, Guo Huaigang emphasized six points. First, the priority is to serve enterprises as the foundation and continuously improve the network of services provided to them. Second, it is crucial to maintain confidence in the original intention of trade promotion. Third, efforts should focus on enhancing innovative capacity. Fourth, recognizing problems and having the courage to address them should be a conscious and ongoing effort. Fifth, it is necessary to follow the idea of a unified trade promotion system, implement the work deployed by the CCPIT, and collaborate with sister trade promotion associations to guide district-level trade promotion associations. The strategic positioning of the capital city should be firmly upheld, and the unique role of economic promotion in major economic and trade activities, international conferences and exhibitions, and high-end group visits should be fully utilized. Sixth, it is crucial to maintain China’s stance while having an international perspective and utilizing the role of people-to-people diplomacy and economic cooperation as a lubricant and a ballast, respectively. This involves establishing multilateral and bilateral business cooperation platforms to aid both Chinese and foreign enterprises in seizing market, investment, and growth opportunities. Ultimately, it aims to promote stability and foster positive energy in international economic and trade exchanges and cooperation.

Guo Huaigang closely connected his work to the practical demands of trade promotion in the capital city and set forth precise mandates for the execution of diverse tasks based on the highest standards. According to him, CCPIT Beijing should further advance the themed education campaign and ensure its comprehensive implementation. It is crucial to thoroughly study and comprehend the socialist ideology with Chinese characteristics in the new era and firmly adhere to the underlying worldview and methodology. This ideology’s stance and perspective should be skillfully applied and closely linked to practical work demands and the actual thoughts of the people. With a clear and focused mindset and a pioneering attitude, more trade promotion practices should be developed to contribute to the modernization of Beijing with Chinese characteristics.
