The CCPIT held the Xinjiang Work Symposium on June 19th in Urumqi. Ren Hongbin, the Chairman and Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group of CCPIT, and Erken Tuniyaz, the deputy secretary of CPC Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Regional Committee and Chairman of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, were among the dignitaries who attended the event. Guo Huaigang, the Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group and Chairman of CCPIT Beijing, led a delegation to the meeting and delivered a speech. The meeting was also attended by officials from partner assistance of 19 provinces and cities, as well as representatives from trade promotion associations of specific industries and relevant departments of the autonomous region, local and state municipal governments, and the sub-councils of CCPIT.

During the meeting, Ren Hongbin pointed out that General Secretary Xi Jinping has provided strategic planning and guidance for the overall development of Xinjiang since the 18th CPC National Congress. This has been done from a high-level perspective and has provided a clear direction and fundamental guidance for the CCPIT to better support the region’s growth. He also stressed that the CCPIT system should prioritize four key business lines to support the development of Xinjiang. These include promoting trade and investment, providing commercial law services, participating in global economic governance, and building an application-oriented think tank. By doing so, the CCPIT can help Xinjiang become a gateway for China’s westward opening up and the construction of the Eurasian Golden Land Bridge, injecting powerful momentum into the practice of modernizing the region with Chinese characteristics.

CCPIT Beijing remains committed to integrating the implementation of major national strategies with effective assistance to Xinjiang. To this end, it has conscientiously implemented the capital’s Xinjiang Assistance Plan and dispatched officials to the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, providing necessary support to help officials fulfill their duties in the assisted positions. This has played a key role in facilitating the effective implementation of Beijing’s assistance projects in Xinjiang. CCPIT Beijing has been supporting the development of Xinjiang by leveraging high-quality exhibition resources in the capital. It has promoted Xinjiang’s unique agricultural products during trade events such as the China International Fair for Trade in Services and the Exhibition of Zhongguancun Forum (China Beijing International High-tech Expo). It has also facilitated the participation of Beijing merchants in various exhibitions held in Xinjiang and engaged with the construction of industrial parks in the region. By sharing the resources of economic and trade think tanks and business associations in the capital, CCPIT Beijing has collaborated on research related to Xinjiang’s foreign trade and economic development strategy, commercial law services, and increased publicity efforts in key sectors such as energy resources, characteristic agriculture, and technological education in Xinjiang. Moving forward, CCPIT Beijing plans to strengthen its political responsibility and sense of mission. It will closely cooperate with the CCPIT Xinjiang Sub-council and CCPIT Sub-council of Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps to enhance coordination, strengthen communication, and deepen intellectual assistance to Xinjiang. By doing so, CCPIT Beijing aims to better contribute to the core area of the Silk Road Economic Belt.

Subsequently, the delegation from CCPIT Beijing attended the “Xinjiang Tour” economic and trade promotion event for member enterprises of the China Chamber of International Commerce. During the activity, they inspected various enterprises in Xinjiang and gained insights into the development plans of companies such as the Veolia Group, as well as investment policies in cities like Urumqi.
