Beijing-Argentina Seminar for Chinese-funded Enterprises Successfully Held

To promote the high-quality development of Chinese-funded enterprises overseas and strengthen the China-Argentina economic and trade collaboration, the economic and trade delegation of CCPIT Beijing to Argentina and Chile had exchanges with local Chinese-funded enterprises in Buenos Aires on the afternoon of June 4, 2023 local time. They exchanged views on investment in Argentina in the fields of finance, logistics, infrastructure, mining, communication, automobile manufacturing, animal husbandry, tourism, and consulting and management, as well as import and export business in those fields.

The seminar was co-chaired by Zhang Xiufeng, Vice Chairman of CCPIT Beijing, and Zhang Junguo, Chairman of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Argentina) Limited. Representatives from 12 Chinese-funded enterprises in Argentina, including Bank of China Buenos Aires Branch, COSCO Shipping Lines (Argentina) S. A., Representative Office in Argentina of Shandong Gold Group, and BYD Argentina, expounded on the risks and opportunities they faced in local production and operation in recent years; and representatives in the economic and trade delegations from 12 enterprises, including Beijing Tourism Group Co., Ltd., Beijing Capital Agribusiness & Foods Group, and Beiqi Foton Motor Co., Ltd., introduced their respective business profiles, expressed their intentions for cooperation with Argentina. Besides, they engaged in comprehensive and detailed discussions regarding financial and trade frictions, foreign exchange controls, and other issues related to deep-sea fishing, butchery, and logistics settlement. The enterprises of both sides acknowledged that this pragmatic and efficient seminar further enhanced the interaction between the two sides and provided crucial information for business decision-making by enterprises. Taking the China-LAC Business Summit to be held at the end of the year as a good opportunity, CCPIT Beijing will continue to follow up with the matchmaking among enterprises, offer high-quality services to enterprises of both sides, and actively promote in-depth cooperation in various fields such as economy and trade, culture and tourism, and agriculture based on the rich resources and networks of outstanding Chinese-funded enterprises in Argentina.
