On the afternoon of February 8, a delegation led by CCPIT Beijing Chairman Guo Huaigang visited Veolia Group, a member of the International Business Leaders Advisory Council for the Mayor of Beijing (IBLAC) and compared notes with Huang Xiaojun, Senior Vice President of Veolia China, on how to efficiently cooperate on the IBLAC and facilitate foreign businesses in Beijing.
Guo Huaigang stated that Veolia, as one of the first IBLAC members, has made substantial contributions to Beijing’s development over the years. Meanwhile, as a bridge connecting the capital city with the rest of the world, CCPIT Beijing has been actively exploring ways to promote international investment and trade, provide international commercial legal services, support MICE industries, and encourage bilateral and multilateral economic cooperation. Additionally, it has been working to establish high-end as well as practical economic and trade think tanks to serve the development of the capital city. In the coming days, CCPIT Beijing will fulfill its role as the IBLAC Secretariat by dedicating a team to provide opportunities and services to foreign businesses, including but not limited to IBLAC members in Beijing. It will also strive to open up high-level communication channels between the government and businesses in order to deepen the extent of collaboration.
Huang Xiaojun expressed appreciation for the efforts of the IBLAC Secretariat and the foreign business service team. He also expressed his desire to strengthen exchanges and collaborations with Beijing in the post-pandemic era. Beijing has incorporated the “dual carbon” goal and green economy into its high-quality development priorities.
