CCPIT Beijing Took Over the Flag of the 16th China-LAC Business Summit on Behalf of Beijing Municipal Government

On the evening of December 14^th local time, the flag handover ceremony was held at the 15^th China-LAC Business Summit 2022 in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Ren Hongbin, Chairman of CCPIT, and Gallado, Vice Minister of Production, Foreign Trade, Investments and Fisheries of Ecuador attended the summit and delivered speeches. The summit was also attended by Chen Guoyou, Ambassador of China to Ecuador, government officials from Latin American countries, representatives of trade promotion organizations and business associations, and entrepreneurs. After the procedures of bidding submission, inspection and evaluation, Beijing was elected as the host city of the 16^th China-LAC Business Summit in 2023. Guo Huaigang, the representative of the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality and Chairman of CCPIT Beijing, formally took over the flag from Vice Minister Gallado.

At the flag handover ceremony, a promotional video for Beijing’s international investment and trade was played, and Guo Huaigang gave a brief but enthusiastic speech. He noted that the wonderful and productive 15^th summit held in Ecuador demonstrated the bright future for elevating the China-Latin America relationship to a new height and provided valuable reference for Beijing to better prepare for the next session. As the world’s first “Dual Olympic City”, Beijing will take the construction of “Two Zones” as a guide to continue promoting higher-level opening up, seek more international economic and trade exchanges and cooperation, and provide business opportunities for industrial and commercial communities in Latin American and Caribbean countries. As the organizer, CCPIT Beijing, with support and joint efforts of all parties, will make the next session a successful and fruitful international event, and contribute to a new chapter of China-Latin America friendship.

 

The 15^th China-LAC Business Summit was held from December 14^th to 15^th and co-hosted by CCPIT and the Ministry of Production, Foreign Trade, Investments and Fisheries of Ecuador, with the theme of “Seize the opportunity of post pandemic recovery to build a connected world”. The summit is composed of opening ceremony, plenary session, and three parallel sessions, as well as a series of activities including Roundtable Meeting of China-LAC Trade Promotion Organizations, China-LAC Trade Promotion Organizations round table meeting, China-LAC Business Matchmaking Negotiation, four forums and China-LAC industrial cooperation exhibition. The Beijing delegation, led by Chairman Guo Huaigang, participated in these activities and had extensive and in-depth exchanges with political and business communities of Latin America and Caribbean. They introduced the environment for international trade and investment in Beijing, and signed several cooperation agreements with trade and investment promotion organizations and business associations in Ecuador, Mexico, Dominica, and El Salvador, committed to further deepening the practical and highly-efficient cooperation with LAC countries in key industries such as digital trade, science and technology, culture and tourism.

To be held in Beijing in the latter half of 2023, the 16^th China-LAC Business Summit will be organized by CCPIT Beijing, with co-sponsorship by CCPIT and the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality.
