Guo Huaigang, Chairman of CCPIT Beijing, led a delegation to visit Comcast NBC Universal on the morning of September 27, a member of the International Business Leaders Advisory Council for the Mayor of Beijing, and had a discussion on the Advisory Council mechanism and business environment with Shi Zhenchun, Senior Vice President of Government Relationship & External Affairs. The delegation was joined by Vice Chairwoman Wu Lanlan, Vice Chairman Zhang Xiufeng, and officials from the Advisory Council Secretariat.
Guo Huaigang said that Comcast, as the only enterprise in cultural creativity under the Advisory Council, has developed Universal Beijing Resort, which is not only a major construction project in Beijing Municipal Administrative Center, but also a landmark project of Sino-US economic and trade cooperation. He hoped that Comcast will build upon its professional advantages to fully exploit its brand effect and China’s market potential by incorporating more Chinese elements and new technologies, and give priority to the cooperation in cultural industries, in a bid to facilitate Beijing’s high-level opening up and high-quality development. He also stressed that CCPIT Beijing will give full play to the role of the Advisory Council Secretariat, enhance the role of Beijing Chamber of International Commerce in raising the visibility of enterprises and promoting non-governmental exchanges, make communication channels between governments and enterprises smoother, and provide all-round services for the Group in its development of new business in Beijing.
Shi Zhenchun expressed his gratitude to the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality for their strong support for the construction and operations of Universal Beijing Resort, saying that Comcast has been actively offering suggestions for Beijing’s development since joining the Advisory Council, and has established a good partnership with the Advisory Council Secretariat. He stated the Group will speed up the planning and construction of Universal Beijing Resort Phase II and Phase III, to create a new landmark of cultural tourism and contribute more to the Sino-US economic and trade exchanges and cooperation.
