Invited by the London-based Global Cities Business Alliance (GCBA) and the Paris Île-de-France Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI Paris IDF), a CCPIT Beijing delegation led by vice president Ms. Li Luxia, visited the United Kingdom and France from June 19-26. During the visit, the delegation attended the 2016 Global Cities Symposium and the Joint Conference of Presidents of Chambers of Commerce from 6 Cities (C-6 Conference), and signed a cooperation agreement with the GCBA.

The 2016 Global Cities Symposium focused on two main topics: Housing for Inclusive Cities and City–business Interaction. Ms. Li shared her views on these issues with over 150 delegates from such cities as London, Paris, Chicago, Boston, Buenos Aires, as well as companies like Aecom, Bechtel, Engie, PricewaterhouseCoopers, McKinsey & Co, and MasterCard Inc. She also recommended some of the key industries of Beijing to interested parties. In addition, the delegates of the Symposium were invited to visit London's underground projects under construction and Canary Wharf Group, where they learnt about the progress and long-term planning of these projects.

The C-6 Conference, taking place in Paris, featured the instrumental role of education in regional economic development. Ms. Li briefed the conference about the landscape of higher education and scientific research in Beijing, as well as cooperation between CPPIT Beijing and higher education institutions of the city. "Beijing has witnessed rapid economic development in recent years. Higher education and the city's economy are mutually reinforcing—economic development has a direct bearing on education spending, and a massive, high-quality education program, in turn, can directly facilitate regional economic development," she noted. The conference was graced by the presence of M. Jean-Paul VERMÈS (president of CCI Paris IDF), Platonov (president of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry), Webber (president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Berlin), and Thomaz Zanotto (president of Federação das Indústrias do Estado de São Paulo, FIESP).

During the trip, Ms. Li also visited Schneider Electric, a member of the Meeting of International Business Leaders Advisory Council for the Mayor of Beijing. She talked with Dufraisse, senior vice president of the company, over deepening cooperation between Beijing and Schneider Electric.
