Xiong Jiuling Leads a Delegation to Attend the China-Arab States Expo 2015

During September 9-11, Director Xiong Jiuling led the Beijing Economic and Trade Delegation to attend the China-Arab States Expo 2015 (CASE) held in Yinchuan City of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, where the delegation participated in the China-Arab States Business Summit, the China-Arab States Green Expo, and visited leaders of Department of Commerce of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and Yinchuan Bureau of Commerce. In addition, the delegation paid a visit to such pivotal areas along the "Silk Road Economic Belt" as Yinchuan Comprehensive Bonded Zone and Yinchuan Binhe New Area. The members of the delegation came from China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Beijing Sub-council (CCPIT-Beijing), Xicheng Commission of Commerce (Sub-council of CCPIT), CCPIT-Tongzhou, Niujie Street Working Committee, Niujie Chamber of Commerce for Halal Food, Jubaoyuan Halal Catering Co., Ltd, and Nian Cooked Food Co., Ltd. Deputy Director Lin Bin and Hao Fenglin, Deputy District Head of Xicheng District attended the events of the delegation.

   Working as a bridge and taking advantage of the CASE this year, CCPIT-Beijing has promoted exchange and cooperation between chambers of commerce and business community of Beijing's halal food and supplies sectors and business circles in Arab States and other Muslim regions, by building an efficient exchange and cooperation platform for Niujie Street and Niujie Chamber of Commerce for Halal Food to introduce premium halal food and projects and expand their global marketing channels. Our efforts were highly appreciated by chambers of commerce and enterprises that joined the delegation. Niujie Chamber of Commerce for Halal Food said that they benefited a lot from the CASE and would strengthen ties with CCPIT-Beijing and Beijing Chamber of International Commerce. They would also consider the possibility of joining the Council of Beijing Chamber of International Commerce and be more proactive in organizing their member enterprises to get involved in economic and trade activities initiated by CCPIT-Beijing. Jubaoyuan Halal Catering Co., Ltd expressed that they reached a cooperation intention with Ningxia Jinhe Beef and Mutton Products Co., Ltd, and would put the cooperative project into practice as soon as possible after returning to Beijing.

Approved by the State Council, the China-Arab States Expo (CASE) is a state-level, comprehensive international exposition co-sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce, CCPIT, and the People's Government of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. CASE also represents an important cooperative mechanism of the "One Belt and One Road" Initiative as well as a major project of CCPIT this year. Held during September 10-13, the China-Arab States Expo 2015 featured a series of conferences and forums, matching meetings as well as exhibitions and demonstrations, encompassing such sectors as economy and trade, IT, science and technology, agriculture, health, tourism, and culture. Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory message to the exposition. State Councilor & Public Security Minister Guo Shengkun delivered a keynote speech. Wan Gang, Vice Chairman of CPPCC (Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference) & Minister of Science and Technology, attended the opening ceremony of the exposition, which was hosted by Liu Hui, Governor of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and where CCPIT President Jiang Zengwei delivered a speech. The opening ceremony was graced by the presence of many foreign leaders, including Abdullah II Bin Hussein (King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan), Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz (President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania), Dr. Fouad Mohadji (Vice President & Minister of Health of Union of Comoros), Badr al-Din Alaly (Assistant Secretary General of the League of Arab States), and Abdullah Ahmad Badawi (former Prime Minister of Malaysia). Also present in the event were 83 ministerial officials from Arab States; representatives from 86 international and regional organizations and investment organization such as the League of Arab States; representatives from 24 ministries and commissions of the Chinese Government and from China's 26 municipalities, provinces, and autonomous regions, and Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Macao Special Administrative Region; close to 30 foreign diplomats to China; as well as more than 200 senior executives from large enterprises and financial institutions from 93 local and foreign chambers of commerce and associations.
