The 7th China Children and Women Industry Expo, co-organized by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Beijing Sub-council (CCPIT Beijing), Beijing Women’s Federation and China National Convention Center (CNCC), was opened at CNCC on Jul. 30th, 2015. Since its initiation in 2009, the Expo has become a famed industry fair and a mass-participation cultural event of the capital city in summer.
On the morning of Jul. 30th, Meng Xiaosi, Vice Chairperson of All-China Women’s Federation, accompanied by Liu Yuhui, Under Secretary General of CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, Xiong Jiuling, Chairperson of CCPIT Beijing, Lin Bin, Vice Chairperson of CCPIT Beijing, Ma Lanxia, Chairperson of Beijing Women’s Federation, and Chang Hongyan, Vice Chairperson of Beijing Women’s Federation, visited the “Beijing+20” exhibition, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Women’s Handicraft Exhibition, Children and Women Service Exhibition as well as the stands of some flagship enterprises. The visit convinced Xiong Jiuling that the Expo had developed into a large-scale, brand-studded, sought-after consumer goods fair over the past seven years. She hoped that CCPIT Beijing and China International Exhibition Center would continue to unleash their advantages to expand channels, optimize resources, increase publicity and enhance services for a bigger and better Expo.
Covering an area of 22,000 m2, the Expo 2015 attracted the participation of 237 enterprises from Australia, China, Denmark, Germany, New Zealand, the Netherlands, the UK and the US, including noted brands like Yili, Mengniu, Sanyuan, Lijiababy, LEGO, Qiao Hu, Goodbaby and Hasbro. During the Expo, lectures on antenatal care, reading activities for children and parent-child interactions were held to connect consumers to trustworthy offerings and advocate corporate social responsibilities. Echoing the 20th anniversary of the UN 4th World Conference on Women where the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action were adopted, and the 20th anniversary of the formal enforcement of gender equality as a basic State policy, the “Beijing+20” event launched by the Expo Organizing Committee included a themed forum, a photo show, a handicraft display, on-the-spot demonstration and social services, presenting a panorama of women’s all-round progress in the capital city over the past two decades.
