Exclusive News about Construction of Gwadar Port To Be Released at the One Belt and One Road Business Salon

On the morning of May 13, 2015, Mr Lin Hai, Director of the Beijing Economic and Trade Information Consulting Center and his entourage visited the Embassy of Islamic Republic of Pakistan Beijing, China to consult with its commercial counselor Ms. Erfa Iqbal about the “One Belt and One Road” Business Salon to be held on this coming October 15.

Ms. Erfa Iqbal made a brief introduction to President Xi Jinping’s visit to Pakistan in April this year. With Xi’s initiative to build a China-Pakistan community of shared destiny, President Hussein and Prime Minister Sharif agreed to upgrade China-Pakistan relations to all-weather strategic partnership of cooperation. The embassy has also been committed to promoting substantial progress of the China-Pakistan economic corridor construction.

Mr Lin Hai briefed on the arrangement of the “One Belt and One Road” Business Salon and expressed wishes that Pakistan would be able to actively participate in and support the activities. He also made in-depth communications with the Pakistani Embassy about the details. When Ms. Erfa Iqbal proposed the question whether it was possible to prolong the duration of the salon and hold small-scale exhibition and promotion activities, Mr Lin Hai gave her a definite reply at once and promised to give all-out support to the plan if the budget and space allowed.

Ms. Erfa Iqbal agreed readily to take part in the salon and promised that she would invite Pakistani enterprises over to exhibit their products, and she herself would deliver a keynote speech then. Given the fact that the construction of the Gwadar Port is of great interest to all in the world, Ms. Erfa Iqbal would give exclusive answers to the questions that would be raised then.
