Description:
The State-backed new material project will, after completion, produce poly sapphire of 10 million mm each year. It specializes in R&D of sapphire crystal growth technique and equipment, along with development and operation of crystal production lines. The Phase I Project will turn out a 2.5 million mm crystal bar production line; the Phase II project will add another three such lines and extend its reach to middle- and lower-industries, aiming to establish the project as the best and biggest sapphire production and processing base in Tianshui.
Significance and major benefits of the project: Given its technical importance, sapphire crystal has found wide applications for electronics, defense and civil industries. Sapphire is indeed “State-backed”: it has been defined as a strategic emerging industry in China’s 12th Five-Year Plan and aligned with the national development strategies for energy-efficient and environment-friendly industries. It is also high value-added and pollution-free. The market needs for sapphire applications continue in the uptrend.

Favorable conditions: The feasibility report of the RMB 400 million project has been prepared. The total investment of Phase I project is RMB 100 million, including fixed investment of RMB 75.7 million and working capital of RMB 24.3 million; that of Phase II project is RMB 300 million, including fixed investment of RMB 250 million and working capital of RMB 50 million. The Phase I project will, after completion, log RMB 600 million in sales and pay RMB 26 million in tax each year.
