Founded in 2011, Zhengrong Trade Co., Ltd. specializes in equity investment and overseas investment. It owes its robust development to a less radical business philosophy. In answer to the “Belt and Road” initiative, along with the call for “going global” and a greater international presence, Zhengrong has acquired a 30% stake in a leading, long-standing, resourceful European company for USD 10 million, upon approval of the National Development Reform Commission and other overseas investment authorities. The European company engages in energy, transport, logistics, international trade, real estate, agriculture and education across the UK, the EU and North America, among other developed countries and regions. It is good at capital operation and expected to grow in the long run.
Since its fixed assets in the real economy are dwarfed by its light assets, as the balance sheet shows, Zhengrong has pivoted its business plans from intersect holdings, share swap, M&A to greater participation in domestic real economy. Meanwhile, it is attracting current and potential Chinese outward investors to its equity transfer project. In line with an amended investment framework, the European company will lend itself to country- and project-specific reinvestments of the investors, provided that they are a) mainly engaged in real economic sectors bar real estate, culture and sports; and b) in good standing, under modern operating mechanisms, with premium assets worth over RMB 300 million.
