On November 21, 2012, the Investigation Authority issued MOFCOM Announcement No. 69 of 2012, deciding to terminate the imposition of anti-dumping duties on imports of methyl ethyl ketone originating in Singapore.
On November 20, 2013, the Investigation Authority issued MOFCOM Announcement No. 65 of 2013, deciding to continue to impose anti-dumping measures against imports of methyl ethyl ketone originating in Japan and Taiwan Region from November 21, 2013 in accordance with MOFCOM Announcement No. 81 of 2007.
On November 20, 2018, in response to an application of the methyl ethyl ketone industry of the Chinese mainland, the Investigation Authority issued MOFCOM Announcement No. 85 of 2018, deciding to start expiry review investigation into the anti-dumping measures applicable to imports of methyl ethyl ketone originating in Japan and Taiwan Region from November 21, 2018. The Investigation Authority investigated the possibility that dumping of imports of methyl ethyl ketone originating in Japan and Taiwan Region would continue or occur again and the dumping would continue to cause damage or would again cause damage to the methyl ethyl ketone industry of the Chinese mainland if the anti-dumping measures were terminated.
On November 7, 2019, the industry of the Chinese mainland applied to the Investigation Authority for cancellation of this expiry review investigation and requested the Investigation Authority to terminate the expiry review investigation into the anti-dumping measures against imports of methyl ethyl ketone originating in Japan and Taiwan Region.
The Investigation Authority decided to accept the application after it examined the case. According to Article 27 of the Anti-dumping Regulations of the People’s Republic of China, the Investigation Authority decided to terminate the expiry review investigation into the anti-dumping measures against imports of methyl ethyl ketone originating in Japan and Taiwan Region and terminate the anti-dumping measures applicable to the investigated products on November 20, 2019. No anti-dumping duties shall be imposed on imports of methyl ethyl ketone originating in Japan and Taiwan Region, starting from November 21, 2019.
