Announcement No. 27 [2017] of the Ministry of Commerce Announcement on Termination of the Anti-dumping Measures against Catechol Imported from the USA and Japan

On May 22, 2006, the Ministry of Commerce promulgated the Announcement No. 32 [2006] and decided to impose anti-dumping measures on catechol imported from the USA and Japan for a period of five years.

On May 21, 2012, the Ministry of Commerce promulgated Announcement No. 20 [2012], and decided to maintain the anti-dumping measures against catechol imported from the USA and Japan for a period of five years.

On November 7, 2016, the Ministry of Commerce promulgated the Announcement No. 61 [2016], declaring that the above-mentioned anti-dumping measures will expire on May 21, 2017, and domestic catechol industry, or natural persons and legal persons representing domestic catechol industry, or relevant organizations may submit expiration review application in writing to the Ministry of Commerce 60 days ahead of the anti-dumping measures’ date of expiry.

Domestic catechol industry and its representatives did not submit the expiration review application within the time limit provided in the announcement, and the Ministry of Commerce decided not to proactively conduct expiration review investigation. In view of this, those anti-dumping measures, which were imposed on catechol imported from the USA and Japan, are terminated on May 21, 2017.
