China’s development, featuring openness and reciprocity, will bring more opportunity to the sluggish global economy, Premier Li Keqiang said on March 31.
He made the remarks as he met Lionel Barber, editor of Britain’s Financial Times, one of the world’s leading business news and information organizations, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
China has been an active participant of the international economic and financial system, the Premier said, and he hopes that the world’s media could report China’s development and long-term economic prospects in an objective way.
Li said China stepped up with fine tuning and intensified administrative reforms when faced with the downward economic pressure amid the global economic recovery, to keep the economy running within a reasonable range.
The Premier also said that China will try to strike a balance between maintaining stable economic growth and continuing structural reforms so as to benefit its people.
China is well-positioned to realize sustainable and sound economic development, he noted.
Barber said the international community is highly concerned about China’s economic development as it is experiencing a historic transformation.
He expects that China will continue to play a constructive role in international affairs.
