The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Beijing Sub-council (CCPIT Beijing) co-hosted the online training on Economic Sanctions and National Security Review Risks Facing Outward-investing Enterprises and Responses to the Risks on the afternoon of September 15, together with CCPITs in Tianjin, Hebei, Shenyang, and Qingdao, and the China Chamber of International Commerce. The training attracted more than 140 representatives from the training organizers and co-organizers, relevant business associations and enterprises inside and outside Beijing.
Wang Dakun, a lawyer from the law firm of Zhong Lun in Beijing, built on different cases to give a systematic overview on economic sanction risks, how to identify and prevent the risks in economic sanctions on outward investment, the national security review system and its impact on Chinese enterprises, as well as how to respond to such impact. Mr. Wang stressed that to effectively deal with the risks in economic sanctions and national security review, outward-investing enterprises should establish a standardized compliance management system in an all-round way by setting a real-time monitoring mechanism as a norm, conducting comprehensive due diligence before transactions, preparing investment plans in a scientific way, establishing expert teams, and properly applying relevant rules. Mr. Wang communicated with the participants after the training.
This training will help the outward-investing enterprises gain an in-depth insight into the economic sanctions and national security review on outward investment, develop a scientific compliance management system for outward investment, take effective measures to improve the capabilities of risk prevention, control and response, as well as prevent and deal with the risks brought by the economic sanctions and national security review
