April 14, the Working Conference for Trade Promotion System in Circum-Bohai-Sea Region & Symposium on Trade Promotion Cooperation in “Three-North” Regions was held in Tianjin. More than 50 representatives from 14 provinces, regions and cities, namely, Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Inner Mongolia, Shanxi, Liaoning, Shandong, Gansu, Jilin, Dalian, Qingdao, Shenyang, Jinan and Changchun, attended the conference. They exchanged their views and made discussions on how to effectively play the role of promoting trade, strengthen regional international economic and trade cooperation and drive coordinated development of industries in the context of building a new development pattern. Xu Jun, deputy secretary-general of the Tianjin Municipal Government and deputy director of the General Office of the Tianjin Municipal Government, and Zhu Jialiang, vice chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Beijing Sub-council (CCPIT Beijing), attended the conference and delivered speeches.
With the theme of “Converging regional momentum and deepening coordinated development” for the conference, the representatives from CCPIT Sub-councils in the provinces, regions and cities respectively introduced their fruitful work that was carried out during their fighting against the COVID-19 pandemic, and put forward opinions and suggestions on further strengthening coordinated development among regions. After in-depth exchanges, the conference attendees reached broad consensus on drawing up a blueprint for regional cooperation and development, jointly building a platform for international economic and trade exchanges and cooperation, jointly promoting trade and investment cooperation with main countries and regions, and sharing international commercial and legal services, etc. They also jointly signed the “Tianjin Initiative for Trade Promotion System’s Boosting International Economic and Trade Cooperation in ‘Three-North’ Regions,” laying a solid foundation for strengthening institutional work and carrying out more pragmatic cooperation in the next step. The conference also arranged the representatives to visit the Tianjin Port and the National Convention and Exhibition Center, during which the responsible person of National Convention and Exhibition Center (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. introduced the project.
This conference is an important opportunity for promoting complementary advantages and forming synergy among regional systems during the 14th Five-Year Plan period. It will definitely continue to build consensus, comprehensively carry out mutual benefit cooperation, make new contributions to regional coordinated development and local economic development, and show new trade promotion efforts for serving the new pattern of development.
