Vice Chairman Ma Changjun and Vice Chairman Zhu Jialiang led a team to visit the Beijing Information Center for International Economy and Trade for research

On March 11, 2021, in order to further strengthen the cooperation with the Capital Library of China (CLC) and provide professional international economic and trade services for export-oriented enterprises in Beijing, Vice Chairman Ma Changjun and Vice Chairman Zhu Jialiang of CCPIT Beijing led a team of 7 members from the Planning and Development Department and the Secretariat of the Beijing Academy of International Economy and Trade to visit the Beijing Information Center for International Economy and Trade for research. Discussions and exchanges were held with Xiao Weiping, Secretary of the Party Committee of the CLC and Wang Zhigeng, Director of the CLC.

The CCPIT Beijing delegation first visited the Beijing Information Center for International Economy and Trade on the fourth floor of the CLC to learn about the building and operation of the center. The center is co-built by the CLC and CCPIT Beijing and is jointly run by the CLC and the Beijing Academy of International Economy and Trade. Since the cooperative establishment in 2016, the center has collected comprehensive professional literature and materials, and has developed into a professional public information service platform, providing inquiry, borrowing and communication services for relevant institutions and individuals engaged in international economic and trade research and practice. So far, it has held 19 public lectures, playing an active role in promoting the implementation of the “Belt and Road” initiative and helping enterprises “go global” in the international market.

After the visit, the two parties engaged in discussions and exchanges. Vice Chairman Ma Changjun and Secretary Xiao Weiping introduced the development of CCPIT Beijing and CLC in the past two years respectively and illustrated suggestions and expectations for the center. The CLC appreciated CCPIT Beijing’s effort to introduce professional societies to jointly build the information center, thus injecting new ideas into the CLC, enhancing the scientific and technological strength of library management, and exploring a new development model for serving the public.

The two parties also conducted in-depth discussions on the development of the center in the future. With the in-depth advancement of the “Belt and Road” initiative and the growing demand of enterprises towards globalization, both parties should seize opportunities for development, continue to expand the scale of the information center, regularly replenish professional books in international economy and trade, maintain the website of the center, conduct more lectures and exchanges, and provide better online and offline consulting services. CCPIT Beijing will leverage abundant international economic and trade resources and platforms to provide more support for the information center. The CLC will actively take advantage of its collections to engage in specific routine work. The two parties will focus on the building of the “two districts” in Beijing, work together to expand the influence of the information center platform, establish more contact with government departments, research institutions, universities and colleges, business associations and enterprises, and better serve the international operation of enterprises.
